“I just want to say, Free Palestine, Fuck ICE, go Geese!”
— Geese’s Max Bassin during the group’s International Group of the Year acceptance speech at the #BRITs
Investigating child sexual abuse material isn’t controversial.
Turning it into political theater is manipulation.
Maybe that logic flies on some island. Doesn’t fly in France.
“This is it, this is happening”

blink-182, Reading Festival
REVIEW: It’s been ten years, but the Mark, Tom and Travis Show is back at Reading Festival. And based on the pace they set from the get-go, they are looking to make up for lost time in a big way. Dealing out a frantic ‘Feeling This’, a raucous ‘The Rock Show’, and a very welcome ‘Man Overboard’ in quick succession, there’s already a sense that this will be a headline set for the books.
Yet despite this being a pitch-perfect pop-punk party, with ‘Aliens Exist’ appeasing the mosh pit full of little green men and ‘What’s My Age Again?’ uniting every generation in attendance in an all-out scream-along, there’s a lot more poignancy to tonight’s showing than meets the eye. The tracks pulled from ‘ONE MORE TIME…’, such as the belligerent ‘MORE THAN YOU KNOW’ and rallying ‘ANTHEM PART 3’ feel even more vital to where the band have found themselves today when part of an occasion like this, whilst Not Now’, a track that was once a final farewell, now feels like a beautiful chapter in this 32-year story of brotherhood overcoming all. And the fact that snippets of +44’s ‘When Your Heart Stops Beating’ and Box Car Racer’s ‘There Is’ are pulled out to absolute raptures from those in the know shows just how far we have come.
By the time a joyous ‘All The Small Things’ and a Spice Girls-referencing ‘Dammit’ set off the fireworks, it’s clear just how much everyone, including blink-182, needed this. The fact these three are back having the time of their lives together again should be celebrated at every opportunity and never taken for granted, especially when the result continues to be as glorious as this.
