@DaveYates86@KborK1_@Danjsalt Yeah I mean my brother has twins and for them (they could only get 15 not 30) it makes no sense for his wife to go back to work. I am managing my income to make sure we can still get it.
@DaveBWFC85@mindofprospect What are all the taxes they are paying for then if not for services? Its a pretty perverse system where services are taken away from you the more you put in, no?
@rainbowland1979@orwellvalley We've an indemnity on the rent charge which was a condition of sale, in case someone comes asking. Rent charges at least are going to disappear, current ones will be dissolved in 2037 (no new ones since 1977). We can't even pay to get ours dissolved as nobody knows who owns it.
@rainbowland1979@orwellvalley Leasehold has been in the Manchester suburbs for far longer than these shiny new flats have existed... Our old house had a 999 year lease with 700+ years left at ยฃ2 per year... our current house similar with a rent charge, but nobody knows who owns the rentcharge.
@DaveYates86@KborK1_@Danjsalt For us it will be about 850 a month *after* the 30 hours free childcare (which is term time only, they spread over the year so in reality it is about 22hr/week for 52 weeks). If we had to pay it all, it would be closer to 2k.
@NoDescriptor@mindofprospect@jacobdrozario@MoneyTelegraph You don't get child benefit at that level.
The issue with the childcare is earning ยฃ1 more can literally make you ยฃ10k worse off overnight - regardless if you think they should be getting help or not, that kind of cliff edge is going to drive behaviour. 10k is a lot of money.
@robbo14040 @jattdocare_ @talksports45 Root also got a century in the pink ball test playing against Starc who's widely regarded as the best pink ball bowler... Not sure what else he needs to do.
@LancsCCMG I know we all like to slag off England but when Steve Smith and Joe Root are both out defending you have to be thinking it is a tough pitch.
I do think Perth was not as bad
(I watched both) - a lot more batters were out to poorly chosen attacking shots.
@miss_reys_mind@realmixing_desk@rohan_connolly@MikeCarlton01 Might be a fair comment for Perth but in this Test the ball was consistently doing way too much. Look at the amount of batters out defending here - in Perth there were a lot more very loose shots. Maybe it would have flattened out in day 3 and 4, but we will never know...
@0rurin@Hieraaetus Easter is only called Easter in English, in other languages it is Pascha or some derivative from passover. It is only called Easter in English because April was Eostre's Month in anglo saxon England. I.e., Easter borrowed the name from the month it happened to be in.
@maiamindel Christmas eve is for getting blackout drunk with all your old school friends so you are deathly hungover to ruin christmas day for your parents. Obviously.
@MedicGrandpa@LinkedInLunat1c Virgins business class is pretty nice, we flew to New York in that config. I prefer others - but it is better than that photo makes it look
@yyzbwj@joannesbitch Dinner historically is just the biggest meal of the day. People used to have that in the middle of the day. Today it is just on holidays really.
@Carlos80717433@jpw_2020@NoelMadden19 Chinos are much dressier than jeans though if thats what we are apparently worried about (to be clear: I am not, wear whatever you please)
@jpw_2020@wackerlegend Jeans are not dressy. Literally workwear. If people are putting on a suit to sit in their front room all day then yeah I'd agree.
@Alejandro947174@DanielTbjorn@russellhbrooks@Simon_Ingari You can quit, you just have to give the notice period specified in your employment contract. It goes both ways, it means the company can't just sack you on the spot either.
