@nut_history Today's players couldn't swing his bat. Technology of lighting bat weight for quicker swings. No player today would put up same numbers using his bat
@nut_history In 1920 Ruth hit 54 home runs. The next closest player had 19. No one had ever hit 30, 40, or 50 HR’s in a season. He hit multiple 500 ft. HR’s with a “dead ball”. Ruth stands alone.
@nut_history Hank Aaron didn’t play against DR, Puerto Rico, Latin America, the Japanese, the Koreans, Japanese and the rest of the world in numbers. He must have been no good.
I’m not taking away from the disgustingness of segregation, but when people say, he only faced white players remember this, he also only faced seven opponents.
So the talent pool was not as diluted as people pretend. And many more people chose Baseball then. His numbers are plenty authentic.
The absolute best there ever was.
Ruth didn't play in little bandbox stadiums. Didn't play in a diluted league with 32 teams. No personal trainers or personal chefs. No fancy batting gloves or protective gear. Just raw talent at its best.
Hands down, George Herman Ruth is and always will be the GOAT of Baseball.
Vanderbilt Head Coach Clark Lea:
"Let me be clear. Progress is not the destination. Last season was not an arrival. It was simply another step in the climb. Our objective remains what it's always been: to build the best football program in the country."
Bookend this closing day card with 44-1 firster In Total Awe, who closed stoutly into a fast pace and won by several lengths, going away, in this older maiden sprint. Good on Mr. Albert M. Stall Jr.
This is heartbreaking @icecoldexacta. I will really miss being able to watch @FanDuel_Racing. I have been watching this and TVG everyday for so many years.
Aqueduct… I’ll keep this one short.
Thank you for giving me my start. From saddling my first horse ever with Artie to winning my first start as a trainer. You’ll always be the place where my career truly began, where I learned lessons that no textbook could ever teach. There were incredible highs, humbling lows, and countless miles that shaped me into the person I am today. That being said… I won’t miss the freezing days and cancelled races as soon we get off the shuttle, the Belt Parkway, or the car crash that’s likely getting me a new hip. Every chapter leaves its mark. Some leave memories, some leave scars, and some leave both. Thank you, Aqueduct.
Let's be the people!
