40 years ago today, the Indian State organized mobs to hunt and exterminate Sikhs.

Armed with voter lists and kerosene they targeted Sikh homes and burned Sikhs alive.

The wounds of the 1984 Sikh Genocide were ripped open in India’s most recent campaign of violence against Sikhs – this time on Canadian soil. 

The NDP will introduce a motion to officially recognize of the Sikh Genocide in Parliament.

As for all of the polls showing a tight race in Mississauga, my prediction is it's not going to be that close and Carolyn Parrish will win. Just my sense based on the people supporting her and involved in her campaign. Grassroots organizers from all communities and walks of life.

My pick for Ward 5 City Councilor (where I grew up and lived for 20 years and have run two campaigns (for Simmer Kaur) is DANNY SINGH. He's been working in the community for nine years and is representative of the diverse community - something needed on Mississauga Council.
