Lake Louise in Banff National Park is a beautiful place, but a crowded tourist area. With limited parking available, you really have to get here by 8:00 AM to find a spot. We ended up taking a bus tour for the day, which allowed us to visit a number of sites at the park.
Last Sunday, we went to the Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park, Alberta. The icefield includes the Athabasca Glacier, which we toured on the Ice Explorer, a six-wheel off-road bus.
We also walked the Skywalk, a glass-bottomed platform about 1,000 feet above valley.
Athabasca Falls is a waterfall in Jasper National Park on the upper Athabasca River, in Alberta, Canada, and just west of the Icefields Parkway. We were able to visit it last Sunday on our trip through the beautiful Canadian Rockies.
Yesterday we walked around Stanley Park.
It was a beautiful day for a walk. We walked the Seawall, saw the totem poles (which are replicas because of deterioration but spectacular to view), and beautiful trees — red cedars, firs, and spruces — some over 600 years old.
We made it to Vancouver, and spent our first full day here going to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Treetops Tour. The bridge sways a lot as you walk across it. Brenda was a bit anxious (terrified?) as she crossed it. Despite that, she even enjoyed herself. It was a fun day.

Let’s blast this to space!
Diversity, equity & inclusion programs create environments where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed. This wholesale slashing of “DEI” programs has many underlying reasons, but I haven’t heard a good one yet. Companies cut “DEI” programs even though they don’t have to.
2024 was an up and down year, so I’m grateful to have come out on the up side. I decided to “semi retire” last year and was able to enjoy more time with family and friends, including my wife of 41 years, Brenda. Stay positive. It’s the only way to be.
Yes, it is time once again for my annual Christmas photo, known as "Why I Love the Holidays So Very Much" or "My New Year's Resolution: Keep Smoking." I hope everyone has a great holiday. Obviously, I won't. (Brenda and me, 1983.)
41 years ago today - can you believe it - Brenda and I were married in Northampton, Massachusetts. I am so happy that the love of my life and I are still together after 41 years - and counting. Happy anniversary, honey!
@MassDOT How does an EZPassMA customer find out their account number? You send me monthly emails, telling me to "navigate to the link below" -- but you don't show the links in the emails. To reset my password at https://t.co/6Eb9Rbn06Y, I must enter my account # and my PIN. Why?
