Babe Ruth at his father’s bar. Ruth used part of his World Series bonus from the Boston Red Sox in 1915 to purchase the bar for his father. He worked there full-time during the off-season before returning to baseball in Boston. His father later died in 1918 from injuries sustained while breaking up a fight outside the same bar.
