As part of their learning about directions, our 6 year olds have been drawing mazes using @ScratchJr and writing programs to get all the way through it. #edtech
Cyber bullying is a real threat in our classrooms. As educators we need to build a safe culture in our classroom. https://t.co/ZoK5ZhrPWk has resources to help teachers become more knowledgeable about bullying and cyber bullying. #edtech#edtechCWU#cyberbullying
Thank you #WAleg for addressing disparities in teacher testing requirements. The passing of HB 1621 improves access into the profession, addresses the educator shortage, and supports building a more diverse educator workforce. We look forward to @GovInslee signing tomorrow!
School districts are sending healthy frozen mealsโthat would otherwise have been thrown awayโhome on weekends with students whose families are food insecure. https://t.co/KndAZInZBt
@EricHougan@DrLarryRosen@pdkintl Love the focus and attention strategies. After reading this article, I have changed my bedtime routine. I have put down the tech and picked up a book. As a future teacher, I know have knowledge and strategies to pass along to my students. Great read!
1/ Call to Action! In WA, a significant barrier to teaching is the West-B, disproportionately affecting teacher candidates of color & non-native English speakers. SB 5512 would require this basic skill assessment but NOT make it consequential w/ a cut score (as currently in law)
The longer teachers teach, the better they are at their practice. That practice may serve to empower students or it may break the studentsโ spirit. That decision belongs to the teacher #HipHopEd
@claira_g Iโve watched this video a number of times. This time watching it the same quote caught my attention. We need to learn to listen to understand and not listen to respond. Great takeaway. #CRTCWU
My biggest takeaway this week was the trust generator (Hammond p. 79). We can build trust with our students by being authentic, vulnerable, showing concern and being competent. Trust= Connection= making a difference. #CRTCWU@EricHougan
My big take away from class Wednesday night was getting to know your students and give them the scaffolding they need to take the next step to be successful. #CRTCWU
A5: I think by helping our teachers implement culturally-responsive teaching, we're able to create a school culture that values its diverse student populations. https://t.co/d8MLNgfsi8 #ELLChat
