'LAHAT NG AKING ARI-ARIAN AT PERA AY IDINEKLARA KO SA AKING SALN. ANG BAWAT SENTIMO AY MULA SA LEHITIMONG PINANGGALINGAN'

OPEN LETTER TO THE MEDIA
Dear Kapuso,
Reporting on the health of the President isn't a "Throwback Thursday" segment or an exercise in nostalgic cinematography. It is a matter of state.
If you’re airing a video from 2022/2023 while discussing a medical update in 2026, you aren't "illustrating" a story, you’re gaslighting the viewers. Unless the video clip is strictly for a "Then vs. Now" comparison to show a change in gait or weight, keep it in the archives.
To show a vibrant clip from 3 years or so ago while the audio claims the President is "stable" today is more than just lazy or honest mistake. It’s a visual misrepresentation. It’s the kind of intellectual dishonesty that makes one wonder if the newsroom is being run by a PR firm or a historical society.
The "File Footage" Rule in news reportinh is a commandment, not a suggestion.
Here's my unsolicited advice:
If you must use old video because current images are as scarce as common sense in some quarters, at least follow the protocol:
1. Label it like your license depends on it. A permanent, screamingly visible tag that says "FILE VIDEO: OCTOBER 2022."
Placing a "File Video" tag but dating it "April 2026" is fraud. It’s an insult to the viewer's intelligence. (Kundi pa talaga namin nakita si Enrile! 😜🫢)
2. Verbal Honesty: The reporter must say, "We are showing you footage from three years ago while we wait for current images."
In journalism, timeliness is the soul of the craft. Using the "past" to represent the "now" is a visual lie, plain and simple.
Raise the bar. If you can't find a current clip, describe the situation with the eloquence your diploma promised you had. But for heaven’s sake, don't serve your viewers leftovers and call it a fresh catch.
Your nagmamalasakit at "walang kinikilingang" viewer, ☺️🫢
IMPEACHMENT PROCESS - “What The Law Says” - Former Supreme Court Associate Justice and 1987 constitutionalist Adolf Azcuna have this to say about the current impeachment proceeding of VP Sara Duterte:
The Justice Committee must remember that they can only do a Preliminary not a full dress hearing — should be reserved to the senate.
Issuing subpoenas borders already in a full dressed trial especially when they summon the witness and put them on the stand like the senate already — that should not be done. Going into the merits of a SALN is beypnd the powers of the committee.
There is a limit to what the committee can subpoena. Essentially, they should NOT try to improve the evidence submitted by the complainants. They should examine what are the evidence submitted. And if they go beyond that, it is already a fishing expedition.
Therrefore it is incumbent of the compalinants to submit the evidences rather than to use the power of the congress to gather the evidence they don’t have. And issuing subpoenas to get these evidences is questionable.
Former Assoc SC Justice Azcuna further states that it appears that the committee is aware that they do not have the numbers in the senate to convict the VP so they are attempting to just expose evidence in the commitee level. That is the agenda.

Every second Jr. pollutes Malacañan is a suffocating theft from the nation. The sooner he’s dragged out, the sooner Filipinos can breathe. Every extra day he clings to power is another day Filipinos are robbed of their breath.
