For staff support, the University Equality and Diversity Unit host BME, LGBT+ & Disabled Staff Networks https://t.co/rH8FJk3ktp These are all active & offer socials & support to their members. There is also an Anti-Racism Ally network and an LGBT+ Ally network.
We ♥️ @oxford_anthro's 'Diversifying Portraiture' online #exhibition: https://t.co/TtHsz88Ek0 put together by our amazing Subject Librarian Helen (@BodArchAnth)
Yay! Really enjoyed my time on the steering group, lots of important conversations were had. Appropriate photo of the flag wall, me and my partner spent a good hour or so hanging them on the wall parallel to each other 😂🏳️🌈📏⚒
I've also collated further information of projects & case studies, to see what paths others have taken. The Changing the Narrative libguide has further information on Oxford case studies https://t.co/sT6TFMg3nG and projects from around the UK https://t.co/dbFm4FjVHC
This week I'm trying to make sure resources for decolonising the curriculum are easily available for folks who want to see what others have done & get started. The Anti-Racist Resources list now has a selection of books & articles on this topic https://t.co/6HWfvXYwAM
@oxgeogsoc@samhampton Of course - thanks! No pressure to publish, just trying to keep a list of any that are openly published in case they’re a useful resource for other departments or groups.
Collating a list of Oxford-related open letters in the 'anti-racism resources' section of the Changing the narrative libguide for those who would like recommendations for priority action points here in Oxford https://t.co/2vxBYiEsgs
Here is the BME Staff Network’s open letter to the Vice Chancellor @UniofOxford with a number of specific, concrete recommendations. Looking forward to seeing a response. https://t.co/ec5pYmWHji @OxfordRace@mplsoxford
I've been finding this when researching titles to purchase to improve the Bodleian's anti-racist educational ebook collections. Frustrating that none of the below are available to purchase in e-version from our vendors (from a variety of publishers). How do we change this?
Wonderfully deserved winner. The @HFLOxford has a copy (https://t.co/EUYqMfSkhj) but of course it's locked up. Ebook is temporarily available at https://t.co/ksIL2QpHCq. Would love to buy this ebook, but only 1 of our vendors has it. And it's "unavailable in your country". 😠 🤷♀️
Over the next 2 yrs I'll be leading a project @bodleianlibs to champion inclusive collection development. Aiming to improve our collections in: LGBT+ studies, Women’s studies, BME studies, Disability Studies https://t.co/9QBLBBP867
In collaboration with librarians, researchers and marginalised groups, this project will analyse gaps in our collections and consider the narrative these collections tell. It will ensure the collections we build are used and useful, and continue their transformational impact.
Fab review of the Queering Spires exhibition I've been involved with at @MuseumofOxford (and brief shoutout to the @mollyoxford event I run). It was great to launch the exhibition last week and see months of work come to fruition! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
Off to #2019m25 conference today on ‘Diversifying our services’. Looking forward to hearing what other libraries have done and getting lots of great ideas we can look at for the @bodleianlibs and our collections.
