Exactly. Hilsa plays no major role in Durga Puja in Bengal or elsewhere. If anything does have ritual significance, it the community meal where a specifically prepared mutton is served (traditionally of a goat sacrificed at Sandhi Puja on Ashtami/Navami transition).
