@JohnSmithb0dx@BolajiOyebode exactly. the OP is loud and wrong. mistaken identity isn’t punitive it’s corrective. the incorrect call for the paredes YC was supposed to be the only thing up for review not a missed YC on embolo.
@AnirudhMenon89 where in the rules does it say that? the usa/paraguay game set the wrong precedent it’s a hasty generalization to use one singular example as justification when it was incorrectly used there also. mistaken identity isn’t punitive it’s corrective
@luism8989 mistaken identity rule doesn’t work like that it is not punitive. the usa/paraguay game set the wrong precedent. the missed YC for simulation was wrongly reviewed by VAR
@luism8989 they didn’t follow the rules. var intervention for mistaken identity isn’t punitive. the missed YC on embolo dive wasn’t up for review. the incidents are distinct even if one caused the other. VAR had no right to conflate the two.
@Darankingi@CrewsMat10 a missed call for second yellow is not reviewable the only thing that was under review was mistaken identity. the foul and the dive are two separate incidents even if one caused the other. the mistaken identity rule isn’t suppose to be punitive
@TaylorTwellman simulation has always been apart of the game. a missed yellow for a dive is not reviewable. var intervention for mistaken identity is corrective not punitive. ik it’s probably difficult for your american chud brain to understand
@hotspurs99@IanDarke where does it say he has no choice. the mistaken identity rule is corrective not punitive. like have some sources don’t just make assumptions
@lorovilla@mxdric if the ref doesn’t give the yellow but a foul the missed yellow for simulation is not reviewable. the decision to give a yellow is what was being reviewed only not the dive
@lorovilla@mxdric there is also the mix up happening because sending offs and penalties protocols do allow transferring yellows if there is a dive but those are different protocols to the mistaken identity protocol. there wasn’t a sending off nor a penalty so those protocols shouldn’t be followed
@lorovilla@mxdric yes i understand the dive is real but there is nowhere in rules that says that the dive should’ve been reviewed. it was only the card on paredes that was reviewable and whether or not to confirm or rescind. not to transfer
@iamnuel_@MoroccoSandsto1@USMNTBaldEagle fifa follows IFAB rules. it’s an independent organization that fifa has a say in but they ultimately follow these guidelines. you’re literally just making things up and to trail something that is not in the rules in a WC is nonsensical
@Darankingi@CrewsMat10 no it doesn’t. because the yellow infraction is on a foul that was mistaken and there is not need to be punitive about it. simply cancel the yellow card. the dive is a separate incident that wasn’t eligible for review
