OPERATION HADIN KAI DELIVERS ANOTHER DECISIVE BLOW TO ISWAP TERRORISTS
The Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI has once again demonstrated its operational dominance and combat readiness by successfully defeating ISWAP attack and launching a devastating counter-offensive against the terrorists in the Buratai axis.
In the early hours of 19 June 2026, ISWAP terrorists launched multiple attacks on troops' locations at Dusten Kura and Chara road in Buratai, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. The alert troops, supported by robust intelligence, promptly detected the incursion and responded with superior firepower in a well-coordinated air and ground counter-attack.
The prompt and effective employment of the Air Component of OPHK, particularly Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance as well as precision strike platforms from the Nigerian Air force, proved decisive. The precision air support integrated seamlessly with ground forces, disrupted the terrorists' assault and inflicted heavy casualties on the attackers, forcing them to flee in confusion. It is worthy to note that no casualties were recorded on own troops, while the terrorists suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment.
This latest success underscores the high state of readiness of OPHK troops and the synergy between the ground and air components in maintaining relentless pressure on the terrorists. The Theatre Command remains committed to denying insurgents freedom of action and ensuring the safety of law-abiding citizens across the North East theatre.
The public is urged to continue providing timely intelligence to security forces and to remain vigilant. OPHK would comtinue to sustain aggressive offensive operations to decisively degrade terrorist capabilities and restore lasting peace to the region.

CHAINS BROKEN IN FAFU FOREST: TROOPS RESCUE CAPTIVE, DISMANTLE TERROR HIDEOUTS IN KATSINA
Troops of the Nigerian Army during Operation CLEAN SWEEP have intensified offensive actions in Katsina State, delivering decisive blows against terrorist elements through sustained, intelligence-driven operations. These efforts, executed by troops of 17 Brigade Strike Group and Quick Response Force alongside elements of 8 Division Special Forces, underscore the Army’s resolve to dismantle criminal enclaves, disrupt terrorist supply networks and restore safety across affected communities in the North-West.
On the fourth day of the operation, troops carried out a well-coordinated clearance mission targeting terrorist strongholds in and around Tuga, within Matazu Local Government Area. Leveraging real-time Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance support, complemented by precision strikes from the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, clearing several settlements.
During the operation, troops recovered a large number of rustled livestock believed to have been stolen by terrorists, including 36 cattle, 280 sheep and 2 donkeys. This recovery represents a major disruption to the economic lifelines of the criminal groups, whose activities are largely sustained through cattle rustling and related illicit enterprises.
Sustaining the operational momentum, troops advanced further into the notorious Fafu Forest, applying the Relentless Incursion strategy aimed at denying terrorists safe havens. Following coordinated aerial and artillery bombardments on identified targets, troops converged within the objective area, engaging and destroying several terrorist camps and concealed hideouts embedded within difficult terrain.
In the course of exploitation, the troops uncovered a hideout linked to a notorious terrorist leader, where kidnapped victims were being held under harsh conditions. Two lifeless bodies were recovered at the site, while one victim, identified as Nura Yar’Adua, was found in chains and successfully rescued. He was immediately given first aid before being evacuated to the Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina for advanced medical care.
Further assessments confirmed the effectiveness of the operation, with terrorist logistics structures destroyed and clear signs of enemy casualties observed within the targeted locations, indicating a significant degradation of their operational capability.
The Nigerian Army remains steadfast in its mission to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. We call on members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with credible and timely information. Recall that the fight against insecurity is a collective responsibility, we shall collectively address all threats to peace and stability.

This will not trend b cos it's not a bad news>>>🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another major victory in the fight against insecurity.
Acting on credible intelligence, security forces successfully foiled a planned attack on students writing their WASSCE examinations in Kogi State and neutralized notorious terrorist kingpin Kachalla Ibrahim Battijo during a coordinated operation. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has since briefed the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on the successful mission.
This outcome reflects the growing effectiveness of intelligence-led operations, stronger collaboration among security agencies, local security structures, and the unwavering commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to restoring peace and security across Nigeria.
Nigeria is fighting back. Criminal elements are losing ground. The Renewed Hope security agenda is delivering results.
This will not go viral because it is great news for Nigeria.
BREAKING: Nigerian troops have eliminated suspected terrorist commander Kachalla Ibrahim Battijo and disrupted key elements of his network in a coordinated security operation in Kogi State.
We promised a programme built on a national scale, 100,000 homes in all, with 50,000 in the first phase through cities of 1,000 units in every geopolitical zone and the Federal Capital Territory, and estates of up to 500 units in the remaining 30 states.
What stands today is no longer a drawing. We broke ground on more than 3,000 homes at Karsana in Abuja, the 2,000-unit city at Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos has reached advanced completion with sales already underway, and across the country, more than 15,000 units are rising as I write this.
2/
When I placed the Renewed Hope Agenda before Nigerians, I did not speak of housing in vague terms. I gave my word that this administration would work to make decent homes affordable again, and that a hardworking family, after years of paying rent, would finally have a path to a house of its own.
Let me account for that promise plainly, by juxtaposing what we pledged beside what we have actually achieved.
1/
A house does not begin at its walls, and we refused to govern as though it did. We promised to confront the foundation, the tools and the cost of building itself.
So we have moved to title land that sat for generations as dead capital, working with the World Bank to lift this nation from fewer than one plot in ten formally registered toward one in two.
We have strengthened the framework that governs equipment leasing, so that a builder or contractor can secure the machines a project needs with legal certainty and the confidence of those who finance them, and no site stands idle for want of a crane.
And,we have published uniform prices on our homes, so that no Nigerian pays a bribe to learn the cost of a roof, while raising materials hubs in all six zones so that we build with our own hands and our own resources.
3/
But a home that is built and cannot be bought is only a monument, and on this point, Nigeria has stumbled for decades. So, we turned to the question of money.
Through the MOFI Real Estate Investment Fund, 1,859 families across 25 states have now drawn ₦128 billion in mortgages, fixed at 9.75 per cent and repayable over 20 years, terms our people were told for a generation they would never see.
Through Family Homes Funds, we have kept faith with the poorest, housing widows and low-income earners, under a mandate to reach 500,000 homes and the 1.5 million jobs that rise with them.
4/
I will not stand before you and declare the work finished, because it is not. The housing deficit this nation carries is counted in the millions, and it will take years of steady labour to close, and I would rather say that to you plainly than flatter you with a lie.
But the difference now is real. For the first time in a generation, the whole housing value-chain is moving together: the land and its title, the building, the materials, the equipment, the finance, and the family at the end of it, and no part waits idle on another.
Housing has moved from a welfare conversation to a national growth strategy. Real estate and construction now sit among Nigeria’s major GDP contributors, proving that every affordable home financed is also a factory order, a labour contract, a mortgage asset, a household balance sheet and a contribution to national output.
That is what I promised for our housing sector, and that is what is now being delivered. Renewed Hope was never charity. It is the right of every Nigerian to a place called home.

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Terrorist groups have long used thick forests to hide, stock up on munitions, and establish bases. The Sambisa forest alone covers 60,000 square kilometers across several northeastern states, including Borno, Yobe, Gombe, and Bauchi. It's a dense mixture of short trees, thorny bushes, and thick foilage that provides tactical camouflage from aerial surveilance.
The NAF carry out painstaking ISR missions to identify targets in these areas and launch precision air interdiction strikes to destroy terrorist structures and weapons caches hidden under the foliage.
That's one forest among dozens billeted all over the northeast and northwest. Other notable forests such as the Alawa, Kamuku and Kainji forest reserves have similarly been exploited by bandits and terror groups. The Kainji reserve is of particular concern because it is the gateway to the Southwest. It has become known as the new Sambisa. What was once a mere selected hideout is gradually becoming a stronghold, with JAS reported to have established a bomb making factory. We cannot allow terrorists to embed themselves in this particular forest.
OPERATION HADIN KAI EXECUTES UNPRECEDENTED INTELLIGENCE-LED RESCUE OPERATION, FREES 360 ABDUCTEES FROM JAS STRONGHOLD IN THE MANDARA MOUNTAINS
In one of the most significant hostage rescue operations conducted in the North East Theatre in recent times, troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), comprising Special Forces and troops of Sector 1, have successfully rescued 360 abductees from a heavily fortified Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) enclave deep within the Mandara Mountains area of southern Borno State. The operation, which was the culmination of weeks of painstaking intelligence preparation, covert reconnaissance, and operational planning, resulted in the safe recovery of men, women, and children who had been held in captivity under harsh conditions after being abducted from several communities, particularly within the Ngoshe axis. The successful rescue underscores the growing operational reach, intelligence dominance, and tactical superiority of OPHK in denying terrorists freedom of action and protecting vulnerable populations across the theatre.
The operation was initiated following the receipt of credible and corroborated intelligence from multiple sources indicating the precise location of the hostages and the existence of an elaborate insurgent support network sustaining the enclave. OPHK intelligence elements subsequently launched an extensive target development process involving the integration of Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations conducted through unmanned aerial systems and long-range reconnaissance patrols. Through sustained intelligence collection and analysis, commanders developed a comprehensive understanding of the terrain, insurgent disposition, defensive arrangements, movement patterns, and the condition of the abductees. This intelligence-driven approach enabled the force to accurately map the objective area, identify vulnerabilities within the terrorist network, and significantly reduce risks to the hostages during the rescue mission.
A decisive breakthrough was achieved through the successful penetration of the terrorist network by carefully cultivated intelligence assets operating under the supervision of OPHK military intelligence personnel. These assets provided timely and actionable intelligence regarding the exact locations of the abductees, the disposition of insurgent commanders, internal security measures, and planned relocation routes. Simultaneously, carefully coordinated information and psychological operations created uncertainty and mistrust within the insurgent ranks, degrading their cohesion and disrupting command and control arrangements. The resulting intelligence advantage provided OPHK with unprecedented situational awareness and enabled commanders to shape the operational environment well before the commencement of the assault phase.
PRESS RELEASE
UPDATE ON FALSE REPORT OF ALLEGED KIDNAPPING OF STUDENTS AT ADUWAWA AND IKPOBA HILL, BENIN CITY
Further to the earlier press release issued by the Edo State Police Command regarding the false and misleading report of an alleged kidnapping of students at Green Park Academy Aduwawa and Western Boys’ College Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, the Command wishes to inform the general public that one Uzebor Emmanuel ‘f’, popularly known on social media as “Aza Woman,” has been arrested in connection with the viral publications.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect knowingly disseminated false claims in various social media posts alleging that about 6 persons had been kidnapped through various Mini transport Buses. According to her some purportedly escaped from their abductors, while others paid ransome. These publications generated widespread apprehension, heightened public anxiety, and could undermine public confidence in the security architecture of the State.
The Edo State Police Command reiterates that the deliberate spread of false information, particularly on matters relating to public safety and security, is a serious offence with far-reaching consequences. Such actions are capable of inciting panic, disrupting public order, and diverting security resources from genuine emergencies. The security of a state should never be jeopardized for views, engagement, online relevance, or any other form of social media gratification.
The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Command therefore advises members of the public to exercise restraint, verify information from credible sources before sharing, and refrain from using social media platforms to disseminate falsehoods capable of disturbing public peace and order.
