Can I ask you to share a PhD advert at Bristol Uni please? Rhomboid proteases play a role in neurons that is essential for life- but it is not characterised. Got a student interested in cell biology, electrophysiology and neurobiology? Send them our way! https://t.co/1aGeWoou9D
Great Summer School with great scientists in beautiful city of Utrecht. Highly recommended.
Also happy to see that one of my 1st images made in Utrecht is still in use ๐

Letโs start new scientific adventure in @adam_grieve lab in Bristol. It is very promising beginning with such view from the lab and green friend on the desk.
Finally it is out! Subsynaptic mobility of presynaptic mGluR types is differentially regulated by intra- and extracellular interactions. https://t.co/G1BpdYyWe6
We show that:
- immobilization of mGluR7 at synaptic sites is determined by its extracellular domain while mobility of mGluR2 along the axon is mediated by its intracellular domain.
- dynamics of presynaptic mGluRs are decreased after synaptic activity decrease
These nice neurons do not deserve to be forgotten in the black hole of the backup drive. So, I am sharing them here. @LeicaMicro STELLARIS #FluorescenceFriday
Everything you want to know about localization of mGluRs, now you can find in our new review 10.1016/j.neuropharm.2021.108799 Thanks to
@NickyScheefhals and @hdmacgillavry
for great collaborations
It has been long in the making but it is online! Our view on how the trafficking and positioning of metabotropic glutamate receptors at pre- and postsynaptic sites shapes synaptic transmission and plasticity: https://t.co/rDuPpREtBw @NickyScheefhals@bodzeta
I am happy to share new insights into nanoscale dynamic of presynaptic mGluRs. Many thanks to @DrFlorianBerger and @hdmacgillavry for fruitful teamwork!
Preprint! In this exciting study spearheaded by @bodzeta with key contributions from @DrFlorianBerger, we present surprising new findings on how the dynamic nanoscale positioning of presynaptic mGluRs is regulated and contributes to synaptic signaling. https://t.co/xnVZ5B8aDG
