Respectfully, this is an incorrect position that is not supported by any statute or case law.
In practice, if you apply for a seal close to the administrative expiration month of March, it will not expire in the regular month, expiration date on it will be moved to the year following the standard expiration year.
The expiration date is just an administrative way NBA use to generate funds. NBA understands this and that's why they don't make a fuss out of it.
If you apply for a seal in December 2025, NBA will mostly put March 2027 expiration date on it.
It's more of a NBA in-house practice done for fairness and common sense and there is no law against it since NBA seal expiry date ordinarily has no negative effects on the document it's affixed on. See CBN v Ekpo & Anor (2021), Emechebe v Ceto Int’l (Nig.) Ltd (2018) among others.
No one is applying for seal in December or January and have it expire in March. I have never seen such.
Even NBA Practising Fee and branch due receipts can sometimes be used in place of seal mostly during delay in production of seal.
Our courts has said it several times that the essence of NBA seal is to reduce quakery.
So, the lawyer in question has done nothing wrong.
@richone090@theairbuser I hope, you enjoy your stay in my blocklist, both on this account and @theairbuser. Let me say this again, you’re a classified fool but you’re under the illusion that you’re the smartest person in the room. Insults are the refuge of the fool and you’re the epitome of foolishness
@richone090@theairbuser You’re already in my blocklist, big fool. Not on this account but on this very account you engaged with. Like I said, you’re under the illusion of being sensible as an Obidient that you are. But you lack the self awareness that you’re fool and you are unintelligent
@petrex_@theairbuser Makes an inaccurate statement about budgeting and thinks he has made a lot of sense. Your brain divorced your head, you dunderhead. If your brain has not been blown out of its head, you would have seen that your claim of more budget for cars than health and education is false.
The economy is in shambles.
90% of my childhood friends have left the country.
One is leaving soon.
Young people like us have lost hope in the country while the children of the politicians are finishing their masters and contesting for Local Government Chairmen position.
It means we are not getting out anytime soon.
JJ, call his name - Nnamdi Azikiwe!
Nnamdi Azikiwe was a virulent critic of Awolowo's founding of Egbe Omo Oduduwa in London in 1945.
Zik through his newspaper West African Pilot attacked the group calling it a 'Fascist Organisation - promoting ethnic division and tribalism'. 🙃
These were Zik's words about the group:
"Henceforth the cry must be one of battle against the Egbe Omo Oduduwa, its leaders at home and abroad, up hill and down dale, in the streets of Nigeria and in the streets of London and in the residence of its advocates. The Egbe Omo Oduduwa is the enemy of Nigeria; it must be crushed to the earth. There is no going back, until the Fascist organization of Sir Adeyemo Alakija [a key leader of the Egbe] has been dismembered."
Zik did all of this while being a founding member of the Ibo Federal Union and Lagos Ibo Union which were formed a year earlier in 1944 and 1930s respectively.
The audacity and the hypocrisy 😏
Gaslighting was a main tactic used by Zik against Awo and Egbe Omo Oduduwa. These comments are what led to the infamous Lagos Press War of 1948 between Zik's West African Pilot and the Daily Service Newspaper and are the roots of the ethnic tension we see today.
Happy Birthday @OgbeniDipo. May grace, wisdom and understanding continue to abide with you and yours.
Or when you want to get a big state political appointment, you’d be reminded by the public where you’re come. The locals will fight to make sure you don’t get the job.
Isn't it funny how you can be born and raised in Edo, school in Edo, work and pay taxes in Edo. But because your parents are from Kogi, you have to contest election in a place you're less familiar with than in the place you've called home your entire life.
@egi_nupe That’s what you get when you want to do odogwu or traditional man by force. His wife is working and not probably contributing anything. He decided to do odogwu. Na him fuck up
@Adone0010@ikhide What effort is he putting? He’s not putting any effort. If he was serious about sending the APC packing, he would have focused on building LP and put in the party structures and networks for him to sail true.
Social media posting isn’t putting any effort. Anybody can write
@ocheakor1@Magixlamy_ Your logic is flawed because every state has its Ethnic/Tribal background. Lagos has eguns, aworis, Egbas, Yorubas etc. Anybody with ancestral roots to Lagos can claim indigeneship and therefore a lagosian. You can’t become a lagosian because you’re a resident
@wumidami@OgaHans The premise is flawed. Oga Hans is trying to be clever by half by reducing the argument to “Yoruba indigene”. The bone of contention is “who’s a Lagosian?” Can your years of residency in Lagos make you a lagosian? It’s not the same as being a UK citizen.
@osazenoo Ngige didn’t choose Peter obi tho. Peter obi challenged Ngige’s election and the courts agreed with him that he (obi) won the election and not Ngige. The courts sent Ngige away and declared Obi as the real winner of the election.
