The full story—from a hand-written renderer to 1.1 billion processed tokens, and from programmer to product developer. (German)

In 2009, I built StepRace with a hand-written OpenGL renderer. In 2026, I described rules, states, and edge cases to a coding agent.
From code artist to prompt poet: StepRace 2.0 is back after almost 17 years. 🏁

I wrote up the idea and technical details here:

For a long bike trip, what matters more to you: the fastest route or the more interesting one?
The hipster rides cycle routes. 🚲
GPT-5.6 Sol launched just over a week ago. I test new models with small, real projects—not demo prompts.
This time, my long-unused domain https://t.co/d9NY9xWjE6 had to take one for the team.
The router is finished: touring, road, and MTB profiles; a preference for official cycle routes; elevation data; and GPX export.

2013 wollten wir mit Blogbox aus Hunderten Blogs eine persönliche Zeitung bauen. Dafür musste die App verstehen, worum es in Texten geht – und Artikel automatisch sortieren. Was funktionierte, woran unser Machine Learning scheiterte und was blieb:

I built Ask My Health: an MCP server for HealthKit, now on the App Store.
It lets you query your Apple Health data from AI tools, with Siri and Shortcuts support too.

@_itsjustshubh Thanks! HealthKit auth stays fully on-device. MCP connects to the local iPhone server via bearer token/session, then can trigger a native HealthKit read permission request. The user still approves the Apple Health prompt on the phone;
I turned this approach into a small iOS app that tracks GDD per location and shows bloom phases based on temperature, not guesswork.

For homesteaders, spring doesn’t start on a date — it starts when enough heat has accumulated.
That’s why I’ve been using Growing Degree Days (GDD) instead of calendar dates to understand bloom timing, early forage, and garden readiness 🌱🐝
🎄💻 Weihnachtsfeier-Idee fürs Dev-Team
Lasst ein KI-Tool (z. B. Codex) eure Git-History analysieren
und macht daraus ein Quiz über euer Coding-Jahr.
Commit-Messages, Chaos-Monate, Feature-Rewrites – alles drin.
Prompt 👇
"Analyze this git history for the current year only.
Generate:
- Top-3 rankings & awards (commits, merges, tests, active days, early/late/weekend work)
- Time statistics (weekdays, hours)
- Ticket & commit message statistics
- Biggest / most notable commits
