@TheEXECUTlONER_ Runner who didn’t run was forced to go to second on the play and cannot legally occupy first base while another player has to get to it. If he touched the base first that would change the situation but he tagged the runner out therefore both are out.
@prieurdp I'll bite, I drive a full size pickup and often back in to spaces. Any time it takes to back in is equivilent to any time it would take to back up, so that's a wash. Also, it allows me more wiggle room getting out in case other cars are parked that limit the space I need.
@DanClarkSports The bat flips and on field antics have been much more prevalent way before the Bananas were a thing.
The problem with what the college and baseball players is grandstanding and taunting something the Bananas don’t do.
Having fun before a play is a lot different than after.
@AdamThaSportFan I’m a depressed A’s fan but can’t quit them. I’m hoping I’ll feel love for a Sac expansion and switch then but only way that’s guaranteed is if they can get a Browns-Ravens situation and keep the A’s name in Northern California. Low odds of it sadly.
@Kylethemediocre I think all the world will be better if the A's history remain in Northern California and Vegas can get its own rebrand that they need and the city deserves. This needs to be a Browns/Ravens situation.
@PatLovesSports@scott_pianowski It wasnt how they weren't good it was how they didn't drop off losing the combined WAR of Giambi, Damon & Isringhausen but actually improved with castoffs and overlooked players replacing them. Nobody is acting like they weren't good, its not about that. Its an economics text.
@PatLovesSports@scott_pianowski again, not what the book is about, it's about the aggregate. I was a season ticket holder for that season and remember it probably better than any season. Of course there was variation. Some did better. Others did worse. The story is about replacing what was lost creatively.
@PatLovesSports@scott_pianowski You’re thinking individual and not in aggregate. The combined WAR of the core players who were on both teams increases 0.4 while the team did win a complete game. The smaller group of new players on the roster were responsible for the increased win total more than returnees.
@cabtot33@scott_pianowski It was a study in economics applied to sports through analytics. The Big 3, Tejada and Chavez were effectively constants between the seasons. Giambi, Damon and Isringhausen left with nothing in return, it was about recreating lost production in the aggregate.
@EricDiemer5@EricoLotufo@scott_pianowski I don't think analytics say Johnny Damon wasn't good. He wasn't a HOF player and wasn't treated as such back then but his career WAR is 56 and 6.1 for his last year in KC. He scored runs and got on base.
@CoachTimmyHyde Game 12 was when ND season ended after Chad left, right?
It’s title or bust in my opinion every year and ND has had a longer bust cycle.
@TopTierND ND schedule BYU THEN ducked out of the series, USC was more limited on finding an opponent that would fit the schedule and there are talks of renewing with P4 rivals from the Pac once the schedule allows.
