Despite all his misanthropic boomerisms I was really charmed by this one. My favourite was the chapter about rafting Glen Canyon before it's destruction, where his resentment is more directed and completely justified

When I was back in Vic I went to an indie show at this new venue that used to be a Chinese grocery store. They sold cans of pop instead of a bar, and if you go in the alley it plays a scary "you are tresspassing, leave or we will call the cops" message from a speaker
