By 1730s, Hindustani (Zaban-e URDU-e Mualla) was the household and mother tongue of the Timurid-Mongol Indo-Muslim dynasty.

Babur Mongol was not the actual founder. His son, Humayun Mongol, was driven out by the Sultans Sher Shah Sur and Bahadur Shah Muzaffarid.

Akbar Mongol was the actual founder, and from his reign onward, every Timurid Indo-Muslim Mongol emperor knew Hindustani as well as Turki, Farsi, and perhaps a few other languages.

While the central administration was conducted in Persian (which had by then become a native Indo-Muslim bureaucratic language employed uniformly throughout the realm), local-level imperial record-keeping was still done in a Proto-Hindustani tongue. Turki, however, was nowhere to be seen there.

That said, Timurid-Mongols knew Turki.
