Just days after a Tibetan activist self-immolated outside the UN, the State Department is reaffirming U.S. support for Tibetans’ right to their culture, language, and faith — free from CCP interference.

This comes as China just rammed through its new “Ethnic Unity” law — forcing Mandarin in schools, erasing Tibetan identity, and claiming the right to punish critics overseas.

Human rights groups say it codifies transnational repression targeting Tibetans, Uyghurs, Hong Kongers, and Falun Gong.

Congress is moving resolutions in both chambers to condemn China's new law.

The Falun Gong and Victims of Forced Organ Harvesting Protection Act imposes sanctions on those responsible for the CCP's state-sponsored organ harvesting industry. I am proud to have worked with @JeffMerkley on this effort, and it passed unanimously.

The Senate should swiftly pass these critical pieces of legislation.

The cost of oil is plummeting after President Trump's announcement of the Iran deal. At his presser at the G7 in Évian, I asked the President how he sees the Iran agreement affecting energy prices in the U.S., and the economy in the long term.

“Well, first of all, thank you for the word plummeting, because that's what's happening. Oil prices are plummeting, and that means oil prices are going to come down.”

I asked President Trump today about his latest push to add the SAVE AMERICA ACT to the Pentagon reconciliation package, which only needs a simple GOP majority (50 + Vance) to pass, ahead of the midterms.
