@Believe_culture So does drinking caffeine, taking creatine, alcohol, Tylenol. Everyone is an addict to something, it's the only way to deal with reality....escape.
I moved here from Ontario which even under Dougie has far more funded outreach and support programs then we do here. Regardless of how it got this bad, it is this bad. All Wab does is try to sweep it under the rug while he poses in the big lights for a run at NDP leadership. This has become generational addiction, homelessness, and raw survival. You can't expect them to just easily assimilate back into society. They need help. The problem is addiction isn't often a war won in a battle and any system they get on to help treats it like one. One slip up and they're done. They don't need Jesus or jail, they need support, help, counseling, and to be given a real opportunity at taking their life back.
The secret is; you don't. When you're at your lowest ain't shit no one can tell you. You gotta look inwards. Think about how you think. Be 100% honest with yourself about why you got a 60% on that assignment, why you didn't get that job, why that relationship didn't work. You gotta talk to the you, you were when it all crashed. Learn how to be better than the last you.
@GreenReaper333 Let me introduce you to my homies @AeliusLED build quality, top end components, based in Ontario (Canada) including all customer service....just saying your dollar goes a long way up here right now and their prices are already amazing.
@LeePatekar@berdyn You are entitled to your opinion. I'm not going to argue. Nor am I defending governments. I just hope at some point people realize they are both wings of the same damn bird.
There will always be people who abuse good will. I said there is a problem with international student visas (the temporary visas you are referring too). It was a failed band aid approach, which is all any government will ever do. However I can assure you that has little to do with our cost to survive, the erosion of free speech, censored media, and lack of investing to build. It's happening regardless of left or right in countries all over the world. Governments are made to control a population, allowing the 1% to extort them just enough we don't revolt.
It has nothing to do with parties or Alberta. Get your head out of your ass. Until the people can call a vote to Impeach a leader for not following through on promises government is a sham. You are right about idiots in Ottawa, but it's all of them. None of them care about us, they all think they know how to live our lives better than we do. Its not about left vs right, Canadian vs Immigrant, Alberta vs Ontario....Its about all of us standing up together. The fault lies with none of us, none of our neighbours, or people we hate. None of those people can do anything to change it. We need to direct all of the strength we've gained from being pushed for so long back at all wings of the government, the corporations who underway and overcharge, the banks who cripple us with fees and high interest, the grocery stores that would rather pay fines from breaking laws than cut prices or pay farmers. It takes all of us to force change, but first we have to change our mindsets.
Far more than you think. Most people who come here came for what Canada used to stand for. They believe in that same vision. I live in downtown Winnipeg. The only white person in my neighborhood. New immigrants from all over the world. Africans, Asians, south Americans. They all came here because of the reputation we had, it wasn't too avoid hard work, it was to get a chance to work hard. I will admit we have a problem with allowing to many international students, as a lot of these people aren't invested and use the VISA to enter them remain illegally...but look past that and you'll see immigrants at the backbone of everything we do. I understand where you take issue, I probably agree with some of it....but there's bigger problems and they take a united front. If costs weren't so high, and major cities so overcrowded you would see we need immigration to thrive. The problem is governments are weaponizing it and corporations are abusing it.
