@HughAkston11@SmartestMark20@jesstyena1 I mean, the altitude part isn’t too horrible
I live in the southern part of the US and I’ve been to Mexico City.
The difference in oxygen isn’t major as some people would think
Especially to a bunch of professionals.
Still fun game to watch
Sad that my mother country lost, but that was such an embarrassing game.
Before I even watched it, I was under the impression that the English team was this professional organization, and that Mexico had no chance.
Only to be disappointed in the English.
Good game
#MEXENG
@SmartestMark20@jesstyena1 I don’t know, man.
I mean, hell I expected them to dominate Mexico.
I don’t even like to watch soccer dedicatedly.
Like I said, I had higher expectations and it was too close of a game to really say
Especially since they’re going into the next game tired and penalized
@Troy6988 And you’re blind
I said Mexico lost
But if they barely won against Mexico, I wonder how it’s gonna even compete against any other team
Again, I came into this expecting the English team to dominate
Those expectations were too high.
@SmartestMark20@jesstyena1 And?
This is not even the finals.
Will England even be able to perform well after this game?
The penalties and fatigue sure make that unlikely.
@jesstyena1 Yeah, I admitted Mexico lost, but the dynamics were not in the English favor
Hell, you can look at the statistics and tell me if that was really a dominating win.
More like a phyric victory, especially after receiving four yellows and one red.
Also the altitude dif is marginal

@jesstyena1 Yeah I did, I was disappointed in England.
Mexico had more control and momentum, it felt as if the English at times were struggling to take control.
Yeah Mexico lost, it fucked up in 38’
But it was extremely close especially after the later half of the second part.
@Spanglishgirl27 I’m sorry, but that was such a minority of the whole fans.
Ecuador it’s personal
England, it was a bunch of rowdy Mexican fans.
Still, I wouldn’t say that was a good game by England.
Mexico kept them on their toes in the second half and it was close to a tie.
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon My brother in Christ, we have argued for no damn reason then.
Literally what was the point of either one of us arguing if we both practically agree in the same position?
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon Yeah I believe that too, there was no argument with that.
However the comic and post we are under is stating a different POV, using a more restrictive interpretation of the amendment.
Thats why I commented in the first place.
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon That’s cool but not what I said
I said if we can understand the root, then we can understand the evolution
If you understand English common law, you can then begin analyze American republicanism and the influences it has from it
From there you have the basis of the foundation
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon I understand there are multiple core parts that made up the American republic
I didn’t say this was the only one
But in terms of its application to this current debate, it is the most relevant
Because as it relates to Citizenship, the English common law is associated with it
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon I bring up English common law not because I have some sentimentality over it, or because I believe it should be fully followed.
But because the current system and its arguments have moved away from the civic republicanism that the USA was founded upon.
Lead us to now.
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon Just so we can be clear what is your interpretation of the amendment and what do you think mine is?
Because at this point we are repeating ourselves and screaming at the void.
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon The debates that occurred expected the amendment to cover children of non citizens.
It was expected and accepted that this amendment would cover a broader scale.
This added along to the actual text of the amendment only supports the idea of broader application.
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon https://t.co/B1rxdFGWal
Tell me where in the first section it excludes any groups, or uses “Hype-Specific language.”
I am interpreting the amendment in the way it was meant to be, under the same principles that the founding fathers wrote for the constitution.
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon Have you actually read the amendment?
Because what you’re thinking of is the interpretation founded by the courts.
The amendment lists out no exceptions.
It uses broad, principled language, not hyper-specific,
Look up shit before hand
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon Keyword “they would have.”
But they didn’t
Deliberately the 14th amendment took inspiration of the constitutional language used for our founding documents.
Our founding documents were made to be broadly applicable.
Hence the amendment uses broad language.
@LCannon1995@JOHN54379832@skscartoon That’s the funny part because there is no mention of any exceptions under the amendment itself.
Rather, it was found under jurisdiction and interpretation that these 3 to 4 exceptions existed.
Even still, the application of the amendment was broad, with some interpretations.
