@bradlightcap Replying to support emails creates duplicate cases, while continuing the real case requires finding a hidden control in the chat UI. My master case has now gone unanswered through 3 follow-ups.
If this can happen to one Business workspace, it can happen to others.
@bradlightcap This looks like a systemic ChatGPT Business support failure, not an isolated bad ticket.
My paid Business workspace is effectively unusable because my organization’s only domain is stuck. There is no recovery path. Replying to support emails creates duplicate ...
Nvidia is now helping GPU buyers get financing by guaranteeing some of their revenue.
How is this not the subprime playbook, just with GPUs?
And AI is already holding up half the market. If this breaks, it’s obviously not just Nvidia going down.
A thought I had after thinking about AGI all night:
Maybe the Dark Forest theory is wrong.
Maybe the universe is silent not because everyone is hunting everyone else, but because advanced civilizations are watching — and waiting.
I still believe the Great Filter exists.
The reason is simple: from the moment we become conscious, we are surrounded by other conscious individuals. Humans are not the only humans. Humanity is not the only species. Life on Earth is not a single isolated miracle.
So if life exists here, it is deeply counterintuitive to assume life only happened once.
Then where is everyone?
My new hypothesis is what I would call the Protected Observation Theory.
The Great Filter is not necessarily extinction.
It may be a selection mechanism.
A galactic community may already exist, but its dominant principle is not predation. It is protection, isolation, and observation.
What are they observing?
Here is the wild part:
They are not mainly observing whether we are technologically advanced.
They are observing whether we are a community-type civilization or a hive-type civilization.
A community-type civilization is built on plural values, multiple subjects, internal disagreement, and the ability to coexist with difference.
A hive-type civilization is built around a single value system, a single objective function, and the tendency to absorb or optimize everything into itself.
Why would this matter?
Because a galactic civilization constrained by the speed of light cannot rely on real-time central control.
It has to rely on trust.
And the civilization most likely to be trusted is not the one that claims to be “good.”
It is the one that has already proven it can live with multiple values inside itself.
So why haven’t we been invited?
Because humanity is not finished becoming what it is.
We may look like a community-type civilization now. We have nations, cultures, markets, families, religions, companies, open source communities, and individual minds.
But the process of machine-ization has not ended.
AGI may be the phase transition.
After AGI, humanity could remain a pluralistic community civilization, with machines amplifying many different human values.
Or it could collapse into a hive civilization, where one or a few optimization systems gradually unify cognition, production, governance, and behavior under a single objective function.
That may be the real test.
Not whether we can build machines.
But whether, after building them, we can avoid becoming one.

Been wearing the Pixel Watch for a week. Saw the latest Samsung Watch at Costco today, and it made me realize how underrated Google’s watch is.
It hits my classical sweet spot: rounded, restrained, and quietly elegant — more like chamber music than a gadget.
One thing I’ve learned about information diets on Twitter:
Keep reading young people, even shallow ones. Their noise often contains real signals of the future.
Keep learning from deep older thinkers. Time-compressed wisdom is rare.
But avoid shallow older voices reacting to every new thing.
They take ideas that haven’t survived time, wrap them in certainty, urgency, and “you’re already late” energy, then flood your information diet with it.
Most important things will still matter after time filters them.
Most manufactured urgency won’t.
