A few years ago, very few people in India even looked at the back of a food packet. Today, children are learning how to read nutrition labels in school.

This shows that our health movement is spreading rapidly.

But we still have a long way to go. I won't stop until health becomes a subject of every school's curriculum and every child in India knows how to decode a food label.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and been a part of the Label Padhega India journey.

An Indonesian YouTube channel called Albumology has built a fascinating library of retro Hindi classics, reimagined in Reggae/Ska.

Using local Indonesian session musicians and vocalists, they’ve given these songs an entirely new cultural texture.

I came across this rendition of Neele Gagan Ke Tale in a post by @SHEKARSUSHEEL
I couldn’t stop playing it on loop.

It’s now downloaded and will become a permanent part of my road trip playlist.

The original, in the immortal voice of Mahendra Kapoor, is, of course, beyond comparison.

But this arrangement gives the song a universal feel. It’ll make you tap your feet, no matter where you come from.

And listening to the lyrics again, I was struck by how beautifully they celebrate the natural world. Long before sustainability became a global movement, this song was already reminding us of our bond with the planet. Perhaps it deserves to be an anthem for that cause.

50,000 trees cut around Dehradun, slaughtered from all sides:

It's vital that we understand that Dehradun is being critically slaughtered from all directions due to rampant tree cutting & unabated loss of green cover.

This is what I tried to explain last evening during the peoples protest program that close to 50000 trees have been cut plus will be cut for highways & roads.

This is just a rough estimate & the actual numbers may be much higher.

The larger question for us all is whether this relentless focus on increased connectivity at the expense of tree cutting is worth all the environmental destruction.

When a train accident took his limbs, a 25 year old Rapido driver lost his livelihood overnight.

He lay there bleeding for hours, asking for help. People watched. People recorded. No one stepped forward.

This is a kind of silence that cuts deeper than any wound. The silence that tells you your life is not urgent enough.

And yet, today, he is still choosing to fight.

Because every morning, he sees his 55 year old father, recovering from heart surgery, step out again as a Zomato delivery partner just to support him. That resolve is what keeps him going.

He is now trying to raise funds for bionic arms so he can begin again with dignity. To work again. To regain a sense of independence most of us take for granted.

"You didn't disclose X, so we're rejecting your claim for Y."

It's the most-used rejection in Indian health insurance, and most people give up right here. Even celebrities are not immune from this.

If you've faced this, or are facing it now, here's what the law actually says.

A pre-existing disease is a condition that existed BEFORE the policy. If it was diagnosed after you bought the cover, like with these ulcers, it isn't pre-existing, and non-disclosure can't apply. Your duty to disclose ends the day the policy is issued.

And the burden of proving you knowingly hid a material fact is on the insurer, not you. Asking you to produce a certificate proving you never had those ulcers is the onus flipped backwards. That's their job to prove, not yours to disprove.

The Supreme Court settled this in Manmohan Nanda v. United India Assurance (2021): once a policy is issued, the insurer must prove suppression, and repudiating a mediclaim on a pre-existing-disease ground without that proof is illegal. Quote it in your appeal.

Put it in writing. A formal appeal to the insurer's Grievance Redressal Officer, logged in parallel on IRDAI's Bima Bharosa portal. If they reject it or stay silent for 30 days, escalate to the Insurance Ombudsman, which is free and whose award binds the insurer.

And if you've held the policy 5+ continuous years, they can't contest on non-disclosure at all, only proven fraud.

The insurer doesn't understand the duration of the ped,

In this case,
A doctor's declaration from the current doctor is more than sufficient to resolve the case,

Lack of proper help is a major problem for customers,
Companies must explain to the customers how their claim will be settled
An educated agent would have helped here,

We will reach out to Suchitra and help her resolve the claim,
This claim is not too difficult, and if it's genuine, we will reach out to the claims head of ICICI to get the resolution done,

He searched an entire kingdom, but one moment of impatience changed history forever.

Long before the famous Jagannath Temple stood in Puri, there lived Maharaja Indradyumna of Avanti. His greatest desire was to behold the highest manifestation of Bhagavan Vishnu on Earth: the mysterious deity known as Nila Madhava.

After searching far and wide, the king's priest, Vidyapati, discovered Nila Madhava hidden deep within the forests of ancient Odra (present-day Odisha), where the tribal chief Biswabasu worshipped Bhagavan in secret with unwavering devotion.

When the king finally arrived, Nila Madhava had disappeared. That night, Bhagavan appeared to him in a dream.

"You will no longer find me as Nila Madhava. Go to the shores of Puri. A sacred log bearing my divine symbols will emerge from the ocean. There I shall manifest as Daru-Brahma, the Supreme Reality revealed in sacred wood."

Soon, a fragrant log marked with the conch, discus, mace, and lotus washed ashore. Yet no craftsman could carve it.

Then an elderly carpenter appeared. Unknown to everyone, he was Vishwakarma, the divine architect, disguised as a human. He agreed to carve the sacred forms under one condition: no one could open the door for twenty-one days.

The king agreed. For fourteen days, the sound of carving echoed through the temple. Then came silence.

Fearing the old carpenter had died, the queen urged the king to open the door. Overcome with concern, King Indradyumna broke his promise. Inside, the carpenter had vanished.

Standing before them were the extraordinary forms of Jagannatha, Balabhadra, Subhadra, and Sudarshana unlike any deities the world had ever seen. They had no distinct hands or feet, only immense eyes that seemed to embrace all creation. The king was heartbroken, believing his impatience had interrupted the divine work. But that night, Jagannatha appeared to him once again.

"This is not an unfinished form. This is the form I have chosen."

Jagannatha revealed that the Infinite cannot be confined to ordinary human anatomy. Without hands, Bhagavan embraces the entire universe. Without feet, Bhagavan reaches every devotee. With boundless eyes, Bhagavan watches over all beings. These forms express the Upanishadic truth that the Supreme transcends all physical limitations while remaining present everywhere.

These are not merely statues. They are Daru-Brahma, the Supreme manifest in sacred wood. Brahma himself performed the consecration, and Maharaja Indradyumna established the great temple at Purushottama Kshetra, now known as Puri.

To this day, millions gather for Ratha Yatra to behold Jagannatha, Balabhadra, Subhadra, and Sudarshana as they journey among the people. What appears simple at first glance is, in Hindu tradition, one of the most profound expressions of the Divine, reminding us that God is both beyond all form and lovingly present in every corner of creation.

Its 1.45 am and i cant sleep bec of severe acidity. I have ulcers. And the last time my ulcers threatened to burst i had to be hospitalized & guess what @icicilombard refused to cover my hospitization cost - bec i hadnt declared my ulcers at the time of taking the policy. But i didnt have ulcers at the time of taking the policy and now they are asking for doctors certificates to confirm i didnt have ulcers at the time of taking the policy. Next they will insist on the car number that kills u in advance so ur family can make a claim. Shame on this @ICICILombard . Am so disgusted. I no longer care abt the refund - i will expose the fraud in their operations
