I did something very major yesterday. By October ending or early November, I’ll come here to quote this tweet with either success or failure.
Let’s see
4.84 / 5.00 CGPA. 🥹🎓
First Class Honours in Chemical Engineering.
What started as a goal has finally become a testimony.
Alhamdulillah for the strength, the knowledge, the people, the lessons, and most importantly, the opportunity to see this day. 🤲🏽
4.83/5.00.
Final result. 😌
I'm graduating with First Class Honors in Mechanical Engineering.💫
God did it. Every sleepless night, every 24-hour reading session, every setback, every prayer, He carried me through it all.
Grateful beyond words.
On to the next chapter.⏩⏩⏭️

"When I saw the congratulatory email, it blew my mind."
Every one of them had a reason not to apply. Some had been told the company only hires through connections. Others assumed that with a sibling already in the running, there was no point putting their own name forward. One assumed a disability ruled her out before she started.
They applied anyway. They sat for the test. They were interviewed. And they got in.
In this video, young Nigerians now working across various subsidiaries in NNPC Limited recall the transparent recruitment process as they experienced it, from the day they submitted their application to the day their offer arrived.

Nigeria Just Made Offshore Oil Investment Simpler and More Attractive.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) @officialABAT has signed the Deep Offshore Oil and Gas Projects Incentives (Tax Remission) Order, 2026, replacing years of case-by-case negotiation with one clear, transparent framework. Up to $50 billion in new investment. Bonga South West as the first beneficiary. And NNPC Limited @nnpclimited standing as the Federation's nominated counterparty, ready to implement the PSC amendments to bring it to life.
This means more jobs for Nigerians, deeper local supply chains, faster progress toward our 3 million barrels per day production ambition by 2030.
As always, certainty attracts capital. Nigeria is showing the world it's ready.

Mother of popular TikTok/social media personality EhisOjeks, Ireti Ojekhoa, has come out to defend Lola Okoye amidst the ongoing saga between the Okoye brothers.
Apparently, they were close friends in high school over 20 years ago.

Temi Popoola GMD/CEO of the Nigerian Exchange Group has presented their wishlist to President Tinubu of listening Eleme Petrochemicals, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), and NNPCL to be listed on Nigerian stock market
The company I worked in had 3 rounds of layoffs in my 10 years there.
Here are my observations in general
1. If your department is getting too big with many people being recruited, be careful. During layoff, your department’s hair may be the first to be shaved. There were only 2 of us in tax. About the only department not affected in all the three rounds. A number game.
2. If you are doing same work and your pay is continuously rising due to general annual payrises over time, egungun be careful. A young guy that will do that work for less your pay and grow may be favoured during layoff
3. If you are in Admin and other less technical roles, be careful. Especially if your pay is high
4. If you have had issue with a senior Oga before, be careful
5. If you have great interpersonal skills, it may save you. Grapevine had it that someone was in the layoff list until the eve of the layoff day was spared because of this soft skill. Name removed and they were posted to another department where their non-technical but human skill was considered a strength.
6. If you are multi-talented, it may save you. If you’re an accountant, for example, be the MC at your corporate event, volunteer for roles, participate in other activities. Don't likit yourself to accounting job.
7. Corporate institutional memory residing in you may also save you. You led an ERP change process? You led a major project? You’re the go-to for some fixes? But this may not be enough if a younger guy that worked with you is considered ripe enough.
8. Finally, plenty bootlicking . But not always enough. In fact, it may work against you if power changes hands and the camp you have been bootlicking are gradually eased out. I know someone stuck in one role because of this.
I first posted this last year.
Since this tweet is blowing up, let me talk a bit about what an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) actually is, some of the software design decisions that go into building one, and how you can use that knowledge to improve your job applications.
