New: Education unions are set to trigger bargaining this week, kicking off a tight summer timeline to reach a deal before contracts expire.
Anticipating tough negotiations, unions had asked to start talks earlier, but Paul Calandra tells me there’s “more than enough time.”
Today I asked the Premier a simple question about the cost-of-living crisis facing Ontarians.
Instead of answering, Premier Ford chose insults and to lie about my voting record.
Ontarians don't care about name-calling. They want answers. They want to know why groceries, rent, and everyday essentials keep getting more expensive while this government dodges accountability.
I’ll keep asking the questions. The Premier should start answering them. #onpoli
His Holiness Pope Leo XIV's message of unity and compassion continues to inspire hope and change across the globe.
During our conversation today, I thanked His Holiness for his efforts to return Indigenous artefacts from the Vatican Museums, and we discussed the urgent need for humanitarian aid and peace in regions of conflict.
We also focused on the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence and ensuring it serves all humanity — with the protection of the individual being paramount as we adopt and scale this technology.
I confirm we have ER patients in extremis who will have urgent surgery put in a chair because the ER has zero space available elsewhere. Hallway medicine is bad. Chair medicine is worse. @CAEP_Docs
Did you notice how many photo ops Doug is doing lately? How many food places he visits? Don’t see him doing photo ops at crumbling schools or hospital ERs though🤔.
Ford’s “golly geez folks” distractions aren’t fooling us one bit.
Doug Ford ran on protecting Ontario from American threats.
Then he handed Toronto’s waterfront to JP Morgan.
Nieuport Aviation, controlled by America’s largest bank, owns the Billy Bishop terminal. They bought it for $750 million and have been losing money ever since. So Ford introduced legislation to seize Toronto’s own land, override the city, and deliver the airport expansion JP Morgan needs to make its investment whole.
One of the lobbyists pushing this deal? A former senior Ford aide. The revolving door didn’t even slow down.
The Building Billy Bishop Act lets Ford expropriate almost all of the Toronto Islands. City officials warn it means gridlock, pollution, and harbour degradation. Nobody asked for this. The only winner is a New York bank.
Captain Canada. Protecting Ontario from the Americans, by handing them our waterfront.
Mark Carney has the power to stop this. And he’d better!!
He blocked me years ago but I might suggest he invest in education - instead of the cuts his gov is so fond of. Young people need to be challenged and encouraged. That requires 1:1 time with teachers. Hard to do in a class of 40.
@JillDunlop1 Privatization is not the answer. How many consultations are being billed to OHIP that were previously just customer service ? We see what you’re doing. You don’t fool us.
“I find it extraordinary that $30 million could be pulled out of the sofa cushions and found for this plane when we don’t have money for emergency rooms or hospitals.” @steffanwatkins
Ford says Gravy Plane scandal is old news. Like hell it is 🔗 https://t.co/nkAySbxSJC #Onpoli
Just so we're clear, this is all garbage. Special education is deeply underfunded in Ontario, and this govt has just cut an additional $4.7 million from PDSB's spec ed budget.
They're cutting access because they don't want the public to see how bad it is. Parents know. #onted
Sobering reporting how the Ontario Conservative government put public hospitals into deficit, resulting in cuts while directing millions to for-profit private facilities. Thank you @TinaYazdani
See what's been going on in special education under this government. Deeper cuts are coming for the next school year, harming Ontario's most vulnerable kids and affecting every kid and every classroom.
This isn't working and this is shameful. Call Doug Ford and your MPP. #onted
This is what people power looks like. Thousands showed up to fight back against the privatization of healthcare, and the Ontario Greens are here with you. Everyone in Ontario deserves access to publicly funded, publicly delivered healthcare. We will not stop fighting for it.

I wish the Ontario patient in agony in an ER chair (because there are no open beds) had the same lobbying capacity like the American bank JP Morgan worth $795 billion and who own Billy Bishop airport. Protect Ontario. Op-Ed by @richardwarnica

The Health Minister is either ignorant or lying - and neither option is acceptable.
She has personally overseen the expansion of private surgeries and private primary care in Ontario while claiming two-tier health care doesn't exist.
Instead of fixing the staffing crisis and investing in public health care, this government keeps pushing privatization and hoping nobody notices.
Ontarians aren't buying it. #onpoli

Doug Ford’s corruption continues as his friends keep getting richer off the backs of Ontario taxpayers.
Ford’s friend Carmine Nigro sat at his daughter’s wedding table and has since been appointed by Ford’s government to chair the Ontario Place Corporation and the LCBO, and sit on the board of Invest Ontario.
Now, Nigro’s company sought a $500 million settlement from Metrolinx over “air rights” and Ford refuses to answer how much his friend got. #onpoli

'Absolutely not': the health minister has rejected claims that Ontario has entered a two-tier health-care system.
As advocates rallied at Queen's Park, Sylvia Jones argued funding private clinics is about convenience, not privatization. https://t.co/KlxQF1dgL1
