This postcard showcases a nocturnal avian mural in Tecate, Baja California.

It was created by the renowned Mexican artist Álvaro Blancarte (https://t.co/oTA8n1N7KW). Álvaro Blancarte (1934–2021) was a highly influential painter, sculptor, and muralist based in Baja California.

The postcard titles this piece, "Guardianes de la noche" (Guardians of the Night). It features a circular composition with various stylized owls surrounding a central moon and a large celestial eye, creating a mystical, protective atmosphere. There is also a large snake at the bottom of the artwork. The piece is representative of Blancarte's focus on mythology and nocturnal themes, often incorporating regional identity, abstract textures, and always a large snake (from indigenous mythologies).
