Director-writer David Lynch, who radicalized American film with with a dark, surrealistic artistic vision in films like “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive” and network television with “Twin Peaks,” has died. He was 78. https://t.co/T2GOao28ux
@Hebsyman@pulmyears@thehipofficial I just finished the book (This is our Life) yesterday. I learned a lot that I didn't know, and am sure this podcast will add to my knowledge. I still have to get to the last episodes of their documentary series (I saw the first 2 at the North Bay Film Festival).
“The blood of Abraham, God’s father of the chosen, still flows in the veins of Arab, Jew, and Christian, and too much of it has been spilled in grasping for the inheritance of the revered patriarch in the Middle East. The spilled blood in the Holy Land still cries out to God—an anguished cry for peace.

Chip Carter shared this statement after the passing of his father, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.
"My father was a hero, not only to me but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights, and unselfish love. My brothers, sister and I shared him with the rest of the world through these common beliefs. The world is our family because of the way he brought people together, and we thank you for honoring his memory by continuing to live these shared beliefs.”

When I look at Jimmy Carter, I see a man not only for our times, but for all times. A man who embodied the most fundamental human values we can never let slip away.
And while we may never see his likes again, we would all do well to try to be a little more like Jimmy Carter.
When a partial meltdown of Ontario's Chalk River Nuclear Power Plant occurred in 1952, one of the 150 Americans brought in to help dismantle the parts of the reactor was Jimmy Carter.
He was lowered into the reactor in 90 second shifts, which was enough time to remove one bolt.
OPINION: As a person of faith, I have been horrified to watch Christianity’s fall from grace in mainstream America. Jimmy Carter’s legacy stands out as an embodiment of what is missing today from our leaders in Congress, and in church.

🚨NEW: Donald Trump has threatened to prosecute and imprison E. Jean Carroll, who he was found liable of sexually assaulting by a civil trial jury.
RETWEET if you stand with @EJeanCarroll against Donald Trump!
What’s so stupid is it was so obvious. And these idiots still voted him in. Against everything they believe. Just cause they didn’t want to see a black womsn be president. I’m just so tired of it being right in our face. And refuse to see it. We are in trouble!
