My take, building AI agents in fintech:
Consumer tools → Chronicle's UX wins. Friction-free.
Regulated banking → MCP + tool calls is the only viable path today. Compliance needs receipts on every read.
The "best" approach depends on who audits your logs.
OpenAI and Anthropic shipped features that look identical on the surface — "give the agent context about what you're doing" — but with opposite philosophies.
For fintech engineers, the difference decides if you can ship at all. 🧵
In regulated fintech, this isn't aesthetic preference — it's a compliance kill-switch.
Screen capture: what the agent saw is inferred from pixels. Audit trail is blurry.
MCP tool calls: every read is a signed, logged call. Audit trail is concrete.
@AnthropicAI's Cowork artifacts (amplified by @bcherny):
Claude creates live panels & trackers that call your connected apps via MCP tool calls each time they open.
Approach: the agent calls explicit APIs.
Integration surface: tools.
@OpenAI's Codex Chronicle (announced by @embirico):
Codex now reads your recent screen context to remember what you've been working on.
Approach: the agent watches your desktop.
Integration surface: screenshots.
Are you annoyed when Edge pastes page titles instead of links? Here are 2 solutions: 1) Use Ctrl+Shift+V (Win) or Cmd+Shift+V (Mac) to paste as plain text. 2) Change the default setting in Edge settings. #MicrosoftEdge#CopyAndPaste
Remote work has revolutionized the way we work. With the right tools and mindset, you can be just as productive at home as in the office.
