Co-host @fantasticpods/@fairytalefixpod. Lover of all sci-fi, especially if it's bad. Villain sympathizer. Pedantic horse-girl. King of all England. She/her 🌈
@mjcmjc22@Lady_Vean Don't get me wrong I think Louise Fletcher is delightful and Kai Winn is such an fantastic villain but I think this guy is a stronger contender for "most evil"
@idlecartulary The breadth definitely and also the mythology of Amy and the Twelve and just overall themes of Destiny and Chosen Ones. That's totally fantasy, I love it.
I call my vibe Transformation Fantasy - an outward change that reveals an inner truth.
@idlecartulary Ooo idk if I've ever heard the passage described as fantasy before but damn you know you're not wrong. For me: Annihilation, Howls Moving Castle, and The Last Unicorn.
@kalaelizabeth I'm so torn on this! On one hand I agree with everyone saying that NPCs having their own orientations adds context and specificity to their personalities and backstories. On the other, I couldn't romance Cassandra unless I played as a man and that made me sad
@campyalien I've only ever heard it as the Kelvin Timeline before your tweet, including on Tumblr and Ao3 fics I've read! Or maybe I just wasnt paying attention. What does AOS stand for, Alternate Original Series?
@Vamihilion Yep yep, an inherent problem with using the 5e setting so faithfully - I'm enjoying the game in most ways but it's yikes on bikes in pretty much every major plot point in Act 1
@wildwoodsgames@FantasticPods The only thing that may count against us is we're playing a Starfinder AP - hopefully that's not too Pathfinder adjacent for you ;)
@wildwoodsgames If you're into queer space opera @FantasticPods produces an AP called Far Beyond The Stars, a rags to riches, to ruin, to revenge tale. Our cast is majority queer, with two of our cast members being non-cis.
I just watched a monkey steal a bottle of Coke straight out of a man's hand and then proceed to drink it in front of him while he yelled at it, then laughed and took pictures. 10/10 day
@ErinMPeyton Yeeeeep - I like JLC a lot but she was barely in the movie, and her performance was fun but hammy (on purpose, but still). AB deserved it completely
@jessiegender Yuuuuup! The ending of part 1 is so heartbreaking, and not because of whether the cure would have been worth it or if Joel's solution to the trolley problem is wrong - it's the LIE in the final scene that sticks with you and what makes this story so affecting and memorable
💕 It’s #ValentinesDay & we're joined by @ttensionpod with a 1700s murder ballad and the Japanese fairy tale that was the inspiration for an #InuYasha villain. The sexual tension is nil, and the romance is unrequited (at best) in this hilarious episode. Available now!
Halfway through the 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and it's fun, but if you're looking for a story about the price of fame and sapphics trying to make it in Classic Hollywood, Siren Queen by @NghiVoWriting did it better
@lincodega@CBHpod finished their first campaign and have started another! The premise is that the apocalypse already happened & the benchwarmer heroes have to try to save the world again after the first string heroes failed. Heavily fairy tale inspired, very funny, w/ good drama too
@choiarmidzywith@jessiegender I always thought they were there for you to take to the benches, get yourself/your kids figured out and then take the tray back when you're done. Could be wrong but it seems the most efficient way to go about it for everyone
