I sympathize with the GenZs. I took over this fast food joint in Zimmer Mirema sometimes back. The take over included 3 genz ladies working there. When they discovered I am the new owner, they started arm twisting me for a salary increase. 2 weeks into it they started missing shifts and I had to step in myself. 4 weeks when I paid them they refused to come, I had to close for a week. Kutoka hapo ni kutafuta watu wafanye kazi, calls here and there.....and for such a place huezileta mmama coz wanaibanga supplies wanaenda nazo home. Others hufanya customers wapotee, like I interviewed one akanisomea vibaya sana she didn't believe why I'd be an employer😁.

Now all young women, nearly 50 of them have come and go....all manner of excuses, attitude, inconsistency, non-commitment. Hooo sijui kupika chapati najua kuserve. Mara nitakuja then they don't show up. Mimi matafuta waiter. I need a phone before voming there. Mwingine anataka mapenzi. Mwingine akakuja kufika saa nne ati nilipe niende nikafue. Another nearly slapped a customer. Mwingine alibeba chapati kumi kwa stocking buana......yaani I was begging people to work.

I ended up dropping the hotel nifanye vitu tofauti after 4 months of kuteseka na stress. Hio ndo workforce iko Kenya. Salary was 500 per day.

@sholard_mancity Most private clubs have and enforce a dress code for many good reasons. But a 'public' place such as a hotel should make it clear and with signage that they have a dress code and what it is, imo. Customers can choose if they want to patronize them or not.
