@Wenguss Foden turns 26 next week Thursday!! 😬 Palmer should have gone as a bench option. Jordan Henderson in big 2026 & has played 2 Premier League matches since March.
@imzispoms Because he has declined physically since 2022 & can only play as a CF/striker. However his ego thinks he can cosplay the position as Benzema & not Jamie Vardy a.k.a work in the width of the 18 yard box.
@schrutelad Agreed. We should spend £400-450 million this summer; 4 CMs, a LB, 2 LWs, a CB & maybe a backup striker or have Cunha as the main CF next season. Sesko drops to the bench. We need a few starters & a lot more quality depth. Otherwise we are just battling for UCL spots.
@premdebrief Personally I would grab both Diomande & Barcola for the left wing position. Make Cunha the senior CF, Sesko is back up. Unfortunately INEOS are not that ambitious
@MikeCampero77@slothanova Rob Pelinka is not the GM/ President of Basketball Operations to do that. He has routinely wasted the AD-Bron duo since the 2020 title. He's incompetent & unlikeable by other FOs.
@ResilientTwo@MaycroftChris@Mordzs_ Decent is an understatement. Took Hoffenhiam from relegated threatened team to UCL qualification. Made Leipzig a permannt fixture in the UCL. Got to the semi-finals. He was on course for a treble with Bayern & got fired for non-footballing reasons.
@MaycroftChris@Mordzs_ Bcoz Julian Nagelsmann has a proven track record of elevating 3 different tiers of teams (Hoffenhiam, RB Leipzig & Bayern) in the Bundesliga & same with an average/poor squad of German players in the national team. That's what he does. His teams play attacking football.
@Oluchi_Utd Also this idea that he will be sacked early is false as INEOS have shown in back to back seasons that they are stubborn & won't be proactive in sacking him early. Go for the best managerial option which is Nagelsmann. Why are we opting to put ourselves on the back foot?
@Oluchi_Utd Luis Enrique was never an option. It was akin to wanting Zidane. They have chosen to hire a manager off an 18 games sample whilst not carrying out an extensive interview process. There are 5 viable options but we are undervaluing coaching experience & going for the safe option
@yehblitzed That's not what peoples' problem with the Carrick hire is. Berrada & Wilcox have opted for the easy & convienent choice without carrying out an extensive interview process. There are 5 viable options for the job who have better managerial experience. An 18 game sample!!
@AmyyyRosee Wrong hire. Berrada & Wilcox have opted for the easy & convienient hire. No extensive interview process was carried out when there are 5 viable candidates for the job who are better than Carrick. An 18 game sample shouldn't be enough to get the ob when we play 1 game a week
@UTDHarkin@UTDRivon Then the club should go for the outstanding candidate in Julian Nagelsmann. They keep pedalling this World Cup excuse as if Germany are going to win it; at best they are getting to the quarterfinals. Nagelsmann would be the best managerial candidate & hire post-Fergie.
@simon_wenban@UTDRivon Fair point but if Carrick wasn't a former United player on his CV, the leap in pressure & expectations from Middlesbrough to United is bigger than the the one from Bournemouth to United. Also Iraola is the better manager/coach.
@Scott_Pert And he shouldn't be!! This is Manchester United. The scrutiny from the football media in the UK & globally wouldn't allow for him to finish 8th back to back. The United management have opted to make the safe decision & done no due dilligence. Managerial experience matters!!
