@reachjulieroys @cmalliance Back in my teen years I left a church after a change in Youth Pastors. The old one was great but the new one felt off, especially where the girls were concerned. Then I couldn't label it but it was uncomfortable. Today the label would be patriarchy.

@WifeWorst We have worked at being civil to each other over the years for the sake of our kids and grandkids. She has been happily married for 20 years now to a good man and I am very happy for her. I believe that remaining single is the best thing for me.

@WifeWorst The God who created us to be complementary never wanted divorce for us and it grieves Him because He knows how much pain it causes us. I was the main cause of my divorce over 30 years ago but it took going through a lot of counseling to realize just how much at fault I really was

@david_bumg @JohnPiper Today I have a mixed Lutheran & Eastern Orthodox theology. Women are in leadership positions (currently our Congregation President is a woman) and are readers and etc. in our church. The churches that I grew up in would recoil in horror at such things.

@david_bumg @JohnPiper I was raised in American Fundamentalist Evangelical Christianity. In my thirties I discovered that this unique position was only approximately one hundred twenty five years old. It led me on a faith journey where today I attend a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.
