40 years ago today, NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND premiered in Japanese theatres.

The film cemented the bond between Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, and Toshio Suzuki, that led them to form Studio Ghibli. This was also the first collaboration between Miyazaki & Joe Hisaishi.
