@ThoughtfulRead @titanchicklisa Ahhhh! I love this idea and will "borrow" it- sending one with readers before winter break and then again before summer. Thanks for sharing! #SummerLeaningChat
@Scholastic@pamallyn@ShaunteeBS@frankisibberson Children may not know how to be specific about their reading needs. Building a strong reading identity during the school year can help children advocate for specific titles, authors, and genres so their adults can request choice books from the library. #SummerLearningChat
@Scholastic Hi, I am Stacey Ross. I am from Austin, Texas, and this year will be my 27th! My favorite reading memory from childhood is visiting my grandmother. She collected Nancy Drew books for me to read all summer. My favorite was the Clock Tower book! #SummerLearningChat
A5: Confession: I left my book at school. Oops! So, not sure about page 57, but one goal I have for this semester is choice in how students receive information. I have always had a lot of choices for product, but I want to add choices on the front end more. #LPTechAmplify
@labrowder Not at all, but it has to be purposeful. Play on technology can be just a time-filler it is not part of a thoughtful plan. I want to find some ways to release some of the control and structure without slipping down the slope in to playing around on apps with little direction.
A1 As I have been reading the book, one of the questions I have asked myself is how can I marry technology and play while also continuing to keep things purposeful and collaborative for my students? #LPTechAmplify
A4: Play is essential when it comes to student choice. 2nd graders are going to be motivated and engaged by learning through play. They will always choose play! #LPTechAmplify
A3: I am hoping to grow my own knowledge and make it visible to the kids. Last semester I was learning BLEND alongside my students and I was transparent about how I was learning in the moment. I am hoping to find something else to learn alongside them again. #LPTechAmplify
Q2: I am ready to get a recording booth rolling my classroom. I have had it on my to-do list for a while, but reading the book and how Ziemke created it in her room has inspired me to take action. #LPTechAmplify
