DC/DMV area, if you see Brooklyn, please speak up. She’s 15, tall, with long braids. She was wearing a black Nike sweatshirt. She may be riding the Metro as she was seen at Anacostia Station and Rhode Island Ave Station. #AishaAlert
Why do I have to do a group paper for this grad school course?!!??!?!?
We are working adults with lives!! Who has time to do this?!?!
AND we have to conduct individual research papers with sections due each week?!?!?
THIS IS TOO MUCH!!
the writer / / the tropes ✨⭐️
Almost 1 month since THE GIFTED SOCIETY has been out. The book I dreamed up at 13, as I craved books abt black girls being vulnerable & dimensional Chosen Ones is doing the damn thing.
My little engine that could. 💖

My latest novel, DO WHAT GODMOTHER SAYS, a dual timeline gothic thriller, has caught the attention of a few horror fans and I’m definitely OK with that! Filled with history and yes, a few “WTF moments” 😂

After attending the homegoing service of the childhood friend’s mom & church mother, it occurred to me that I’m now entering the phase of adulthood where I’ll be attending funerals more often.
@obeytheauthor Thank you for creating this list!
My bookish goal is to read Black indie SFF. Can’t wait to finally read Bones to the Wind after hearing Capri’s Book Island review on YT.
Now that I’m in grad school, I’m back on the church’s mailing list to receive a goodie box☺️
Mind you, I live 15 minutes away from the church and it’s my grandma who is the coordinator of the program 🤣😅😂
Stopping by my grandma’s house after giving her some space for a week.
I walked in and up the stairs. Heard the TV in the back bedroom, I thought “oh I wonder what grandpa is watching.”
Then it hit me…he isn’t back there anymore.
Idk when I’ll ever get used to this.
The sanctuary was packed for my grandpa’s homegoing service. We had to use the overflow room.
As Pastor mentioned during the eulogy,
“Well done, Master Sargent William W Johnson”
He will be dearly missed💙
Woke up early to watch the snow fall during the sunrise while drink a hot cup of tea. It brought back the magic of snow days ☺️☺️
Then I realized I have to shovel the snow off my car & sidewalk yet again and drive in terrible traffic to get my uncle from the airport 😤😩
✨ OUT TODAY ✨
a black space fantasy book about a time-traveling boy caught in a love affair, an indentured girl under hostile rule in the 60th century & the prophecy that makes them collide. the material here? the vision? black stories are coming UP!

Truly thankful that my college roomie/best friend decided to come down to spend a few hours with me even though she lives hours away.
I didn’t realize how much stuff I needed to get out. It was cathartic to talk to someone outside of my family about all that has happened
Hello Twitter,
I'm not sure if you know, but six years ago, I started a book club. We meet the last Tuesday of every month online to discuss a book written by a Caribbean or African author.
We love meeting new people and you're welcome to join us.
