I think Bruno probably gets done, not sure about Vini, as there is too much that is out of our hands.

But if we can't get Bruno, we should go and slap a British transfer record bid down for Alex Scott, no messing around - totally different approach to the deal for a totally different age profile (so no excuses).

I'm more concerned about missing out on Bruno G because of the time we've spent on that one we'll need to pivot FAST - Vini is actually less pressure in a way, we didn't know it was serious until a few days ago and were always the underdog in that battle.

The LW market being what it is, it might be a better move just to keep Martinelli in that scenario.

We were two PKs in a shootout away from winning the CL a few weeks ago and have improved year on year in the competition for three years now so saying ''never'' about that is bottom-tier Twitter banter not analysis.
