Remember when almost all the Cards fans wanted to fire Oli? To me, he made one major mistake that year, when he shamed Tyler O'Neill. But he did create a bullpen as he has done ever since, and while all StL fans know that they can be better... well, (we) they really can't.
@Stallion2011@GaryMyersNY So wrong! A football game has about 100 plays from scrimmage and some special teams. That's at least two tons of meat banging heads 100 times, with about a half minute of rest time between bangs. You can't do it.
@70sBaseball Just in my lifetime, Bob Lemon, Robin Roberts, Newk, Tommy Byrne (hit a pinch grand slam against the Yankees), Jack Harshman. A lot of teams had a pitcher who might pinch-hit. I may come back here.
@ronsterd89 Probably, but if that's your biggest problem, then you've got to get out more. There's a bunch more serious problems out there and you ought to participate.
@Norma5387953815 I made 1058 by moving one match from the bottom of the 3 to close the 3 and make it a "square zero" taking the other match from the bottom of the 3 to make it a 1 and move it to the front. The "1" and the "0" are smaller than the 5 and the 8, but it mostly works.
@Zigmanfreud@Mitch57740700 They've played 34 in the past 2 years. One did great. It wasn't because the snow was so pretty. And no, no one watches AZ games for the sunshine, either. The weather is just about irrelevant, just like in college basketball.
@OleTimeHardball Ryan was not a great pitcher, he was a spectacular pitcher. Great pitchers make their teams better. Ryan didn't do that. He'd strike you out; he'd limit you to only a few hits more than anyone else. But he wouldn't win more games, or make his team a pennant winner.
Not great
@cigarmike Satchel Paige got it right. The question is not "How old are you?," it's "How old would you be if you never saw your (or "had a") birth certificate? I turned 80 last month, but don't tell my brain that it's old, even if we forget things,
@ESPNBooger The coach knows about 1MX more about football than you do, and about 50X more than that more about his own team. He had the play, he had the players. It didn't work, but he was still right.
And you're not.
