@DrJenGunter Parent, not doctor, but our two under 2 both tested positive for RSV around Christmas -- our ped said a lot of viruses were bad this year. Adenovirus has hit our daycare hard too. Of course, they're too young to mask...

Some parts focused on adolescence/puberty went over their heads, but I don't think they're inappropriate. The humor of turning into a red panda and theme of being true to oneself is good for all ages.

@TinaDuryea Not really. There was one summer where they tried to adopt a “you pick one, I pick one” strategy in an effort to temper my BSCs and Sweet Valleys with what they saw as greater literary value (with limited success). But even that level of input faded as I got older.

@lucyschwallie My 8 yo has like the Sam Wu Is Not Afraid books - the library even purchased a couple more in the series at our request. He had also been working through the Zoey and Sassafras books and The Bad Guys series.

@Aya__Marie My husband does - he worked in health administration before getting his phd in medical sociology. Now teaches health care ethics and policy, so it’s directly related. And I imagine I will include my ~20 years of experience in higher ed if/when I ever finish my doctorate.
