@TheBookerPrizes Not eligible as we reside outside of the UK but we have “judged”, amateurishly, 20 years of Booker shortlists! https://t.co/7dbpLaHPim
@PublishingWhiti This year the NZ books I have read/am reading: Ockham’s fiction shortlist, plus Mirror Book, Loop Tracks and The Matriarch by Witi Ihimaera.
@SavidgeReads Potiki is a well loved and respected work here in NZ. I read it many years ago. We are revisiting it for bookclub this year. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
@MorganGodfery Or maybe they have staff whom they care about and want to be able to pay without going bankrupt? And maybe they have family whom they support and want to be able to continue supporting. Do you not have a job? Don’t you hope your employer values it and you?
@bookrach The Wellington gig was fantastic. Kim Hill and Margaret Atwood built a playful, slightly combative and hilarious friendship over the course of the evening. MH drew all the right information from her. Couldn’t have been better.
@lonesomereader@TheBookerPrizes Of course it was going to be difficult to choose. But that’s why they were selected, so they could use their expert knowledge to pick a (ie one) winner. IMO Ducks should have had it.
the fact that all six were meaningful and captivating, the fact that I agree, it would have been difficult to judge, the fact that it’s a cop out the judges didn’t choose one winner #bookerprize2019
