it's my actual souls birthday today. happy birthday adam parrish, patron saint of overworked, mentally ill queer kids with a need to prove themselves everywhere <3
pride month may be over but my quest for queer films never is. if anyone else wants to know what my list looks like here ya go:

(and yes it does have almost exactly an equal amount of wlw and mlm films + trans rep and nb rep. so there.)
me trying to hide the twilight series, vampire academy series, the mortal instruments books, morganville vampires books, drake chronicles and the hunger games at the bottom of my bookshelf bc they don’t look nice and also i’m no longer 13:/
i said this months ago but i truly hope she’s not helping out in the writers room for season 2 because eleanor & park is one of the only books i’ve EVER had to put down bc the racism was so bad. there’s an entire section on her wikipedia page on her racist depictions
making racist choices in your filmmaking isn’t being provocative. it’s being an idiot. y’all would’ve hyped up leni riefenstahl’s nazi propaganda if this was 1935 smh
since she also removed it from her bio: her representation’s name is samantha! feel free to write to samantha at @RootLiterary if you’re inclined😇 i haven’t decided how petty i want to be about this yet but i do have a fairly large tiktok following that im sure would help me too
instead of engaging with this person who obviously just wants attention everyone should just contact her representation at @RootLiterary and ask them how they feel about representing a racist and whether that’s in line with their values
i hope that the warm and welcome reception that heated rivalry has gotten from the world is a comfort for any closeted hockey player out there who may be struggling with their sexuality or the idea of publicly coming out
okay one last thought: i thought it was weird of them to make ilya say “we are not anything” instead of “we are not anything. not here” bc it changes the entire meaning of the scene but im hoping they had a reason for doing that bc everything else was good, can’t wait for more!!
so instead of casting a romani actor to play a canonically romani character whose entire arc is about how racist their society was and what that did to him they’re just gonna put jacob elordi in bronzer and pretend like it’s not brownface?
“(…) to anyone who feels lost in life, in love, in general, and who might need the comfort of knowing they are not alone. If you’re a fan of stories like that, this lovely novel is for you.”
5 of 5 stars to Comedic Timing by Upasna Barath https://t.co/5XaCKQEXNd
#currentlyreading comedic timing by upasna barath and i’m just a bit more than halfway through it and so, so fascinated with this novel.
i cannot put it down, i’m thinking about it all the time… this is a serious contender for best book of the year and it’s only january?!
it’s not original. it’s the result of scrapping other people’s work from the internet. it’s “good” because it’s most likely taken from the creative, hardworking and talented fanfic writers who do the oftentimes thankless and free job of writing stories online for their community
“In short, this is a story that feels like a comfort to anyone who feels lost in their 20s.”

thank you so much to @unbounders for the arc!<3
