@UnhaltedGB@stanzillaz Honest answer. I enjoyed your work from a distance, I’m glad you offered us something familiar and performant as Blizzard stripped away WAs. Thanks
Here’s my question for you: if you could go back to the beginning of UUF specifically, would you just have developed the addon without creating a discord server nor any other direct method for unhinged WoW players to gain direct access to your peace of mind? There are certainly more formal ways to collect feedback/reports
Yeah I’m at the limit of my ignorance here so you’ll have to forgive me. I’m aware that a company’s board could “just say no” but in practice there are a lot of levers that can be used that make this less likely.
Is my example from before a bad one? In that scenario both company’s shareholders would probably want to vote yes even if it fucks everyone else pretty substantially
I don’t know if unhealthy businesses fail faster than “technology” moves, and there’s probably some utility in keeping the very biggest corporations from buying up all their competition while they still have the capital and squeezing the life out of the market before “technology” can catch up.
Or let’s say Amazon buys Microsoft and then squeezes everyone out by dramatically increasing AWS/Azure hosting infrastructure rates over 4 years. Which scrappy startup can spin up datacenters to compete in time? Would every small and medium business be able to hire manpower to stand up their own self-hosted solutions before they go insolvent?
I don’t buy that argument
@BrotherFattius@LimitXyronic I want people to remember that every time Blizzard makes statements about their gameplay goals they’re talking about +12s for chuds and it won’t apply beyond that point
@indexnforgetit They want enough time to parade you through their highly trained upselling machine (the finance office) so you’ll give them even more of your money.
