What they’re doing is the correct business decision because I don’t know anyone IRL who’s going to boycott. I would be surprised if they even lose 10k potential subs. Most of the chuds raging will be crawling back the first week of launch bc before the bans everybody was talking like they did knock it out of the park.

Sure but that’s not who classic is for and not what the rage is about. People are mad that blizzard is ruining their nostalgia with wokeness. You can give them a better game and they’ll still be mad because they want to be in ogrimmar again and they want the freedom and levity of 2004.

It’s not coming back. There’s 7.4 million active players. They don’t care about a couple of thousand subs dropping because theyre nostalgic about edgy humor. The backlash they’ll get from not being woke is incomparable to the current chud backlash. The internet was a completely different place in 2004

It was made by a private company and ownership eventually transferred to a publicly owned company. Leadership changes when that happens, as do values and who you hire. You cater to the shareholders instead of NEETs. You guys are in an echo chamber and think you have more leverage than you do. The median player will be retained. The refunds will be negligible. We will go through this again in 8 years when wow foreverever launches and the imbeciles think they’re back in 2004 again because they named their beta character “Nill Kiggers” and got to spam trade chat for a week.

Landlords also have mortgages and will pass down the cost to renters eventually. Did you account for 4% annual rent increase (about what Dallas has experienced over last 25 yrs)? Your $2700/month payment will be $7168 in 25 years, and that’s assuming we get a handle on inflation.

You can invest the difference between mortgage and rent and you will out earn the appreciation but most people are too impulsive to stick to that and instead will overspend the majority of what they save by not having higher mortgage cost upfront.

Be prepared if you are 40 or older and decide to rent indefinitely because you will be either living in a prison cell sized apartment for 20-30k a year or spending 100k on rent to keep living in this hypothetical 500k house.
