We loved the incredible size and quality of this Citrine from the moment we got it. The only thing holding it back was the polish and cut.

We made the risky decision to cut off the milky bottom, sacrificing 4.1 pounds to give it a cleaner shape and allow it to glow on a lighted base. It was a hard decision, but one we knew would let the crystal reach its full potential, now it is a complete gem!

The final polish brought out amazing clarity and really shows off the beautiful golden color inside. Even though it's smaller now, it feels like a completely different crystal.

Sometimes less really is more. We hope you enjoy the transformation. 💛

Why does no one ever sense-check the numbers in government reports?

This report on folic acid dosing worked on the basis of 59g of flour consumed per person per day.

That works out at 1.5 million tonnes a year for UK.

UK mills produce close to 5M tonnes.

Exports = imports.
Roughly 4M left once you take out wholemeal and wastage.

If we are generous they have still only estimated half of the consumed flour.

Why are "reasonable worst case scenarios" reserved for viruses and not for government interventions?

“Rescue only”

After 6 trips to northern France and around 20 days on the ground, one thing has become impossible to ignore.

In 9+ small boat crossings I’ve documented, I have never witnessed French authorities physically stop a single boat from leaving for Britain.

What I have witnessed is a rescue operation.

Once the boats are in the water, the priority appears to be ensuring they reach safety—not preventing the crossing in the first place.

These boats could be intercepted, brought back to shore, the suspected smugglers detained, and those on board identified.

That hasn’t matched what I’ve personally seen.

Perhaps @ShabanaMahmood should spend a day on the beaches with me instead of another carefully staged photo opportunity.

This is what I witnessed through my lens.
