If you don't understand that damn near every legislative move in the state of Mississippi has been to keep Black folks down, you're plainly living in denial.
Michael Guest's commitment to Mississippi is that he will end school lunches, abolish mental health and substance abuse programs, and enact federal mandates for state/local DAs to prosecute medical marijuana users, requiring state/local DAs to seek maximum sentences in all cases.
I wish I had been able to go down to the river when I was there, but the wife and 4 year old weren't down for it. Enjoy some pics of the Mississippi River at record lows at Vicksburg.
I hate this "Ye's a genius!" "No, he's crazy!" discourse... the two aren't mutually exclusive. Van Gogh got angry after an argument with a dude, chopped his own ear off, and gave it to a chick at his local brothel. Don't you tell me geniuses can't be batshit crazy.
@ritaresarian Girl! Every week! My cancer clinic is inside a larger medical facility, and it's straight up maskless moronity every step between the front door of that facility and the door to my suite. Scary as hell. Not to mention effing STUPID.
@IsaacHayes3 Common colorblind racial ideology (CBRI) trope - that is, one form of denial of institutional racial oppression rooted in white supremacy culture is to say that white people are the ones being discriminated against. I’ll def be using this example the next time I talk about CBRI
@BenjaminPDixon Watching him come off that pavement bleeding after she so righteously and rightfully whooped his ass is the catharsis I needed this morning. He's lucky her friends pulled her off. She clearly could've kept going.
And if he tried to teach our kids about it y’all would call it “CRT” and threaten to cut his funding.
Taking a trip doesn’t absolve you of opposing efforts to help the Black community. The mental gymnastics y’all do to help yourselves sleep at night is wild.
