Lithuania's parliament has advanced a constitutional amendment to remove the country's ban on weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, and foreign military bases (Article 137).

The measure passed the consideration stage 99–13, with 5 abstentions.

This is not final adoption and does not authorize any nuclear deployment. The first adoption vote is set for October 6, and the final vote for January 12, 2027. Both votes require at least 94 of 141 MPs.
