¿Qué es "The Cat" Soft Fork?

En esencia, la propuesta de The Cat es engañosamente simple: identificar un conjunto basado en instantáneas de UTXO creados por protocolos no monetarios (principalmente Ordinales y Sellos de Bitcoin), hacer que esos UTXO específicos sean permanentemente indesestables a través de un cambio de consenso de bifurcación suave y, finalmente, recortarlos del conjunto UTXO por completo.

El mecanismo

El gato trabajaría a través de varios pasos:

Paso 1: Tome una instantánea: A una altura de bloque específica (por determinar), tome una instantánea completa de todo el conjunto UTXO e identifique todos los UTXO que califiquen como "no monetarios" de acuerdo con los criterios definidos.

Paso 2: Crear una lista negra permanente: Genere una lista definitiva de estos resultados de transacciones NMU (combinaciones de txid y vout) que serán el objetivo de su eliminación.

Paso 3: Implementar reglas de bifurcación suave: Implemente nuevas reglas de consenso que invaliden gastar cualquier UTXO en la lista negra. Los mineros rechazarían cualquier transacción que intente gastar estas salidas, y los nodos considerarían que los bloques que contienen dichas transacciones no son válidos.

Paso 4: Limpieza del conjunto de UTXO: Una vez que los UTXO son demostrablemente indesesables a través del consenso, los nodos pueden eliminarlos de forma segura del conjunto UTXO, reduciendo el tamaño de la base de datos que cada nodo completo debe mantener.

Críticamente, The Cat no propone ninguna nueva política de retransmisión o normalidad para transacciones futuras. No intenta evitar que se creen nuevas inscripciones o sellos en el futuro. En su lugar, intenta eliminar el incentivo financiero para crear dichos datos demostrando que la comunidad Bitcoin puede y eliminará los UTXO no monetarios, lo que los convierte en un pobre valor para activos similares a NFT.
