Our healthcare assistants in Leicester have postponed their strikes planned for today, tomorrow and Wednesday. This is because their colleagues at both Northampton General and Kettering General have also voted to strike...

Just home from an excellent day at work and particularly proud of my lanyard ๐. Ensuring everybody can contribute fully to the team and treat all our patients with respect seems like common sense to me.
Investment is key to fixing NHS rather than wishful thinking
UNISON head of health Helga Pile on government plans intended to improve patient choice:
โSmall-scale pilot schemes and wishful thinking are no solution to the huge problems facing the NHS.
โItโs not possible to magic up the extra trained staff and equipment needed to plug the gaping holes in the healthcare system caused by more than a decade of under-investment.
โGiving the illusion of more choice is cold comfort to patients whoโve been waiting far too long for treatment. Itโs just another attempt to deflect from the governmentโs catalogue of failure on the NHS. The public wonโt be fooled.โ
