Muslims are planning to build a huge Islamic facility near Plano—and their ad features what looks like a historic Baptist church being replaced by a mosque
Southern Baptists, it doesn’t matter what Russell Moore said. We’re not obligated to support this!
@WilliamWolfe@BaptistLeaders 💯💯I submitted a resolution for the Missouri Baptist Convention annual meeting titled "On Publicly Denouncing the Evil of Islam."
Pressing for action from churches and the MO government.
@JaredCBurt My statement had nothing to do with numbers. I am concerned with sound doctrine. Do you really want to use the AoG as your standard bearer in the debate?
@JaredCBurt Those statistics don't help you. They reveal what many have said all along. The average SBC church doesn't want your liberalization. That's why support for T&U is so high. Liberals flood the annual convention and claim thats what SBC wants. Nope. Not this time.
The calls for increased financial transparency in the SBC are not going to go away. SBC President Willy Rice knows this. So does @rhett_burns. And Pastor Burns wants to help solve the problem:
“The question is not whether we have a trust problem. We do. The question is whether we will work together to solve it.
Therefore, I want to extend an invitation to any entity head willing to have a conversation with me to work towards a solution.”

"I refuse to believe that we must resign ourselves to be some kind of declining movement with diminishing impact...
We are not victims of fate, we are more than conquerers. And it is time that we started acting like we believe that again."

@AdamPage85 No, and the modern view of religious liberty is almost always anachronistic when it interprets what this means.
Our Baptist forefathers and America's founding fathers didn't envision a mosque or synagogue in every town.
Most preachers who truly seek to honor God will heartily affirm the first and third points while missing the middle point. We must remind ourselves that the church needs preachers not professors.
"Still, preaching is properly very different from secular discourse:
1. as to the primary source of its materials,
2. as to the directness and simplicity of style which become the preacher,
3. and the unworldly motives by which he ought to be influenced."
John A. Broadus.
"Would I like to know what Dr. Mohler's salary is? Yeah, I think maybe I would.
But that guy who just spoke at Microphone 3? I don't want to live in a world in which he knows what Dr. Mohler's salary is."
My former dispensationalism began to unravel years ago because of the literal meaning of texts like 2 Corinthians 6:16-7:1.
Paul quotes from Lev 26, Ezek 37, Isa 52, Ezek 20, 2 Sam 7, & Isa 43, and then says to Gentile Christians, “Since *we have* these promises”!
In Christ, God has one plan, one people, and one Israel.
