WEEKEND RESULTS 🏏

SATURDAY

1sts had a good win away at Walshaw!

Batting first we put on 295 thanks to a brilliant 155(98) from our Professional Oscar Jackson (Sponsored by Phil & Jo Watkinson) on debut!

With the ball we kept control restricting them to 182ao with Jordy Mason pick of the bowlers taking 4-38.

2nds came up just short in a very close game with Horwich!

With the visitors setting 225-9 the runs where shared with Jaime Riley (Sponsored by @MalagaCollege) top scoring with 51(57) we was 192-9 before a 10th wicket partnership left us agonisingly short losing by 2 runs after our 45 overs.

SUNDAY

1sts are knocked out of the Derek Kay Cup in a narrow one at the Rigbys

Batting first we came up short with 116 on the board at the half way stage.

At 50-0 the visitors looked like they where cruising to victory before wickets at regular intervals including another 4fer for Jordy & 2 a piece for Ross & Oscar left them to 106-9 before the last partnership got them over the line in a great game!

2nds piled on the runs at Mottram!

Batting first we scored 330-6 with knocks from Jaime Riley again scoring 66(66) & Brett Ernst 77(66)!

Ball in hand it was always under control with Jacob Dickinson pick of the bowlers taking 4-36 with the team winning by 126 runs!

The club is sad to announce the passing of Ann Morris, who for over thirty years was at the heart of the club as stewardess, alongside her husband David during his time as chairman.

Ann was so much more than a stewardess, she ran the bar, organised the cricket teas, provided catering, and played a vital role in countless club events. Her hard work, warmth, and dedication touched so many, and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. We are deeply grateful for everything Ann gave to the club over the years.

Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with David and all of Ann’s family at this very sad time. 🕊️💙
