@ChrisCovent Exactly.
Another con: not enough Cindy and Brenda together. That friendship is the heart of the franchise. The old dumb Cindy should have snapped back much sooner and Brenda didn’t need to be Ma for the entire film.
@duamaximoff The bonuses need to be across the board but even though this was an indie, the director and main actors most likely signed a long form contract that has bonuses baked into it if the movie reaches a certain box office threshold or if they are nominated for major awards.
@JoshuaOgundu She may have just ended her career and her bright future on bigger projects or she might have opened the door for the crew to get proper compensation on the back end. We shall see
@shivanibanfal The phrase “do the right thing” comes to mind. But the director probably won’t see that money anytime soon or ever. It’s all going to the distributor
@mjarbo Indies like Obsession are a labor of love and it’s how someone who’s normally an Art PA gets to flex as a production designer. A lot people will work for free to be able to create. She should take this as an opportunity to open doors for future projects with more $
@bigmusicfan19 The acting and production design was 🔥 but the story was all over the place. Maybe I’m just a person that prefers narrative filmmaking over artsy, incoherent, psychological filmmaking
